SMETHPORT – There were tense moments Wednesday morning after a call to the 911 center reported a bomb had been planted in the McKean County Courthouse in Smethport.
In a fitting tribute honoring fallen firefighter Blaine E. "Skeeter" Wildnauer, Jr., of Kersey, a solemn procession was held Wednesday morning which included dozens of fire departments from four counties.
Wildnauer, 58, died Saturday morning in the line of duty while responding to a traffic crash on the Old Kersey Road. A lifelong resident of the area, Wildnauer dedicated 40 years of service to the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department.
