Flickerwood Wine Cellars hosted the Kane Community Hospitalâ€™s Annual Report to the Community on Wednesday evening. KCH Board Member and Secretary Eric Ross called to order the meeting and turned the microphone over to hospital CEO Gary Rhodes.
Supporters of the Kane Cheer Boosters have been busy decorating the basement of the Kane Eagles Club in preparation for their Haunted House fundraiser. The Kane High Cheerleaders will be traveling to Myrtle Beach, S.C. in March to participate in a national competition and has begun fundraising to pay for the trip.
An affidavit of probable cause filed in Magisterial District Court 48-3-04 shows Kathleen S. Douglas, age 37, of North Tionesta Avenue, Kane, had "levels of the Schedule IV controlled substance Clonazepam (that) were several times greater than they should have been given the dosage prescribed" when she was involved in a fatal crash that killed six people.
Due to the recent injuries to employees of the Kane Borough Streets Department, members of the Kane Borough Council made it easier for the department chairs to hire temporary or part-time employees in the event of an emergency. With the leaf pick-up season upon us, the chairman of the boroughâ€™s public works committee may hire part-time employees in conjunction with the borough office manager, Lori Feldbauer. Full-time employees would still have to be hired by the borough council.

A police criminal complaint and affidavit of probable cause were filed Friday charging Kathleen S. Douglas, age 37, with multiple felony counts and related charges stemming from an Aug. 31 two-vehicle crash that killed six people on state Route 219 in Hamlin Township.
