Dave Wheatley, the Kane Elks Corporation President, and Lorri Forquer, Kane Elks Lodge Secretary, present a check to Brenda Emer. A benefit was held at the Kane Elks on Saturday, April 20 at the club on Chestnut Street. The twelve-time cancer survivor has been taking part in a trial study in Pittsburgh.

ST. MARYS – Police, with guns drawn, surrounded a home in downtown St. Marys Friday in what became a brief, yet tense standoff with an armed suspect holed up inside.

Charges against a Mt. Jewett couple for allegedly withholding food from their three adoptive children have been bound over to McKean County Court.
JOHNSONBURG – The man charged with murdering a Ridgway teen and dumping her body in a remote, swampy corner of an area park was in District Court Wednesday where a preliminary hearing saw charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and abuse of a corpse upheld against him.
