Kane residents Steve and Kerri Dyne purchased Two Mile Creek Ranch just outside of Sheffield in January 2012. The horse ranch is just under 100 acres and the couple has put in a lot of time and energy into getting the ranch up and running.
Area residents can take a short drive and take advantage of some fine entertainment this weekend in James City. The Highland Township Recreational Association will hold their annual festival this weekend.
A variety of music, food and vendors will be available on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as drawings for adults and games, including a bouncy house, for children. Booths will be scattered throughout the area by the ballfield.
The issue of Wetmore Township employees, including supervisors, contributing to their health insurance is still being debated after Tuesdayâ€™s regular monthly meeting brought the township no closer to a conclusion on the topic.
MT. JEWETT â€“ Members of the Mt. Jewett Borough Council voted unanimously to pass a resolution to dissolve the Mount Jewett Borough Authority Board during Monday eveningâ€™s regular monthly meeting.
Renovations are under way at the Kane High School swimming poolâ€”the only public pool in the Kane area.
Mt. Jewettâ€™s annual summer youth program recently came to a close. The three-week program, under the direction of Nichole Krietemeyer, is divided into two daily sessions, one in the mornings for students from K-6 grade and evenings for teens.
The Kane Area School District this year went the extra mile to help 13 seniors meet requirements to receive their diplomas at commencement.
