Jay Paterno discusses book, answers questions in Kane visit

January 30, 2015

Jay Paterno braved a steady snowfall and slippery roads as he drove from State College to Kane to speak Thursday evening before a crowd of 75 at the Friends Memorial Public Library.
The winter storm held down the size of the audience. Perhaps many felt Paterno would be a “no-show” because of the weather.
But missing a scheduled public forum is not in Paterno’s DNA.
He said his late father—legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno—wouldn’t excuse him if he ever missed such a public event.

Kane nurse returns after treating Ebola patients in Africa

Most often, Wright was just another spectator at school athletic events.
“You hope you’re not busy,” she said.
A 1994 graduate of Kane High School, Wright served as the school district athletic trainer for 12 1/2 years between 1998 and 2010.

Acting at a meeting at the county courthouse, McKean County Commissioners Joe DeMott, Al Pingie and Cliff Lane approved just two of 21 requests for Act 13 revenue.
The commissioners awarded $124,140 to Bradford Township for the replacement of a township bridge over Marilla Creek. The crossing is known as the Langmaid Lane Bridge, which provides access to a nursing home.
