PUNXSUTAWNEY â€” It could be an all-time record crowd with Groundhog Day returning to the weekend for the first time in a number of years for the 127th-annual trek to Gobblerâ€™s Knob.
"The all-time record was approximately 33,000 people, back when it was last held on a weekend," said Bill Deeley, president of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle.
Kane school administrators are considering a plan that would provide students with locks for their school lockers.

Major repairs are under consideration for the indoor swimming pool at Kane High School.

SMETHPORT â€“ A part-time position of secretary has been created at the McKean County Jail near Smethport.
The McKean County Board of Commissioners voted 2-1 earlier this month to create the position at the rate of $11 per hour.

The borough annually tried to remove one or two dead trees from the largest park in Kane. However, limited funds have kept the borough from undertaking a major project to remove diseased trees, which present a significant danger to park-users.
