Edwin V. “Win” Apel Jr., 62, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and formerly of Boise, Idaho, and Berkeley Heights, N.J., died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Health after a year-long bout with his brain tumor.
Win was born Sept. 10, 1949 in Oil City, the son of Edwin V. Apel, Sr. and Marian L. Myers Apel. On Oct. 27, 1973 in Kane, he married Mary Loretta “Lorrie” Marconi.
In 1967, he graduated valedictorian of Cranberry High School. He then graduated from Yale University, with a B.A. in Philosophy in 1972. In 1977, he graduated from the University of Idaho School of Law.
