Ronald J, Gruber, 65, formerly of Sugar Grove, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville.Â
He was born in Jamestown, N.Y. on Dec. 21, 1945, a son of the late Erma (Hitchcock) and Ray  Gruber. He served in the U.S. Marines as a sergeant in the Vietnam War where he received the  National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnamese Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. He was retired from his employment at Bush Industries.  Â
