Richard E. Johnson, 81, of 7 Brennan Ave., Mt. Jewett, formerly of Castle Shannon, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, 2012 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where he resided.
He was born Aug. 25, 1930 in Jamestown, N.Y. and was raised in Lamont, son of Victor E. and Hazel M. Nearing Johnson. On Oct. 19, 1974 in Kane, he married the former Vera E. "Midge" Laughlin, who survives.
Kathryn Josephine Rankin Ressler, 90, died on Jan. 22, 2012 at Sumter Health and Rehab in South Carolina.
She was born in Kane, a daughter of the late John and Agnes Rankin. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of the VFW Post 3034.
She loved flowers and music of all sorts and was an avid dancer and played the guitar in a band. Mrs. Ressler passed away on her daughter Kathy’s birthday. She attended Bethesda Church of God.
