Francis W. Ahlberg

Francis W. Ahlberg, 89, of 6558 Route 321, Kane, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 29, 2012, at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1922 in Wilcox, he was the son of Olof and Cora Silvis Ahlberg. On Aug. 15, 1947 in East Kane, he married Mary A. Stakley, who died in 1990.
Mr. Ahlberg served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Italy and North Africa, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal. Later, he worked for the Pennsylvania Highway Dept. for many years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Wilcox Sportsman's Club, the Kane Fish & Game Club and the American Legion in Wilcox.
