Jesse D. Swanson, 22 of 6969 Highland Rd. passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born May 12, 1990 in St. Marys, he was a son of John R. and Tracy P. (Lundberg) Swanson.
Jesse was a 2008 graduate of Kane Area High School and graduated from Triangle Tech in 2010. He was a welder and fabricator for Dangelo Auto Body. Jesse was an avid snowboarder, hiker, camper and weightlifter.
Mike and Terry Snyder, both of 307 Maple St. in Kane, both died in a canoeing accident Sunday morning at the Kinzua Reservoir. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc.
Shirle Ann Strawcutter Deitz, 79, formerly of 109 Clay St., Kane, passed away Saturday Nov. 10, 2012 in the Lutheran Home of Kane.
Mrs. Deitz was born April 16, 1933 in Brookville the daughter of Ray Edward and Evelyn McManigle Strawcutter.Â Â She was married on Oct. 19, 1986 in Kane to Albert â€śJockoâ€ť Deitz who died March 7, 1993
Mrs. Deitz worked for 36 years at Stackpole Carbon Company. Â Â She was a 1951 graduate of Kane Area High School and was a member of the Tabor Lutheran Church.
Vernon B. Olson, 85, of 519 Biddle St., Kane, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in Kane Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1927, in Wilcox, he was a son of Charles and Edith Simpkins Olson.Â In 1946, he was married to Elizabeth Cooley who passed away in 1966.Â On June 15, 1968 in Shamokin he married Sandra Ryan who survives.
Mr. Olson worked for 37 years at Kane Manufacturing Co. retiring in 1991 as chief estimator. He was a veteran of World War II serviving in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Unit.
Robert S. "Bobby" McClellan, 25, of 8 Center St., Mt. Jewett, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his residence.
BornÂ Jan. 5, 1987, in Kane, he was a son of Robert Dunkle and Elizabeth Kiser.Â He was adopted and raised by his grandmother and grandfather Mary and RobertÂ McClellan of Mt. Jewett.
Bobby was a construction worker with F & A Construction.Â He was a member of the Mt. Jewett Sportsman's Club.
Frank Giordano, 73, of 130 Greeves St., passed away at his home on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.
Born March 25, 1939, in Bradford, he was a son ofÂ the late Antonio and Josephine Franco Giordano.
Mr. Giordano worked as a repairman. He was a member of the Bradford Veteran's Club and the Italian Club in Bradford.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Joseph Giordano of Sheffield; and three sisters, Gloria Pingie of Lewis Run, Ursula Yoke of California and Theresa Ross of Olean, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Donald E. Whitmore, 83, of Grandview Estates in Kane, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Randolph, Vt., he was a son of Oscar and Flava Gordon Whitmore.Â On Jan. 13, 1951, in Bethel, Vt., he married Barbara Upton who survives.
Mr. Whitmore served in the U.S. Army.
He had been employed as a mill supervisor at Otter Creek but due to a serious accident at work had to retire in 1981.
Anthony Thomas Vito, 91, of Levittown, passed away Sept. 28 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Langhorne. Â
He attended Kane High School, graduating in 1941. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and after basic training was assigned to the Third Infantry Division. He participated in invasions in Africa, Sicily, Italy and Southern France. Anthony received the Bronze Star Medal and two Purple Hearts as well as Laurels from the French Government. During a brief visit to Rome he was granted an audience with the Pope.
Richard H. "Dick" Farnsworth, 71, of 811 Washington St., St. Marys, died at his home on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 following a battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 20, 1941 in New Millport, a son of the late Russell and Bertha Chittister Farnsworth.
On Feb. 4, 1967 in St. Mary's Church, he married Joan Hoffman Farnsworth, who survives.
Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been discharged in January of 1968. He made his career working at St. Marys Carbon and Stackpole Carbon Company. He also spent time as a truck driver and working at the All American Car Wash.
Carsen T. Davis, 13, of 400 Maple St., Kane, died early morning Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 after a life-long illness.
Born Sept. 3, 1999 in St. Marys, he was the son of Megan Wile and William Davis, Jr.
Catholic by faith, Carsen enjoyed music, walks, going to school and Colts football. Even though Carsen's life on earth was brief, he had a profound impact on those lives he touched.Â He will be sadly missed by family, school friends and the community.
