Howard S. Graham, 86, of Route 6 west of Kane, died at his home Tuesday evening, April 15, 2014. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cummings Funeral Home, Inc.
Alexandria LaJean Dunkle, 11 months old, died Saturday, April, 12, 2014 after a lengthy genetic illness.
Alexandria was a happy and content child no matter what obstacles she faced in life.
Born April 22, 2013, in Pittsburgh, she is the beloved daughter of Adam Wheeler and Jessica Dunkle, cherished granddaughter of Connie Snyder and Frank and Nora Wheeler, and the dear niece of Megan Dunkle, Francis Wheeler, and Ryan McClellan.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Dunkle, and a great-grandmother, Barbara Miller.
June E. Nichols, 92, formerly of DeYoung, died early Friday morning, April 11, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where she resided for the past four years.
Born June 3, 1921 in Kane, she was the daughter of Raymond and Alma Anderson Sloan. On May 30, 1938 in Warren, she married William R. Nichols, who died in 1998.
Along with her husband, she owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Drive-in in DeYoung for many years.
Sandra C. Simons, 78, of 3 East Main St., Mt. Jewett, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.Â Â Â
Born Oct. 20, 1935, in DuBois, she was a daughter of the late Clark R. and Adelle Pettigrew Lockwood. On June 20, 1968, she married Donald Simons who preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Simons was previously employed by the former Big Level Motel and the former Summit Hospital. She also was a home caregiver which enabled her to help many people.
Mrs. Elizabeth Parker, Â 84, of Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Pines Health and Rehab, Olean, N.Y
Born Sept. 14, 1929 in Olean, N.Y., daughter of the late Paul and Catherine McGurn Halloran. She was married on Nov. 30, 1957 in St. Patricks Church, Salamanca, N.Y., to Mr. Charles A. Parker Jr. who predeceased her on June 2, 2004.
Mrs. Parker was employed as a receptionist at the former Fancher Furniture Company and the former Bradner Department Store.
William Eugene Gillotti, 92, of Mobile, Ala., died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.
He was born April 4, 1921 in Kane, son of the late William and Zella Knapp Gillotti.
He was a 1939 graduate of Kane High School. He served in the Air Force in WW II and was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters Lenore Arena and Gail (Bob) Breidenbach; a son, Eric Gillotti; and brothers Donald, Virgil and Wilbur Gillotti.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Santilli.
Services were held in Mobile, Ala.
B. Pauline McMillen, 87, of 764 JoJo Rd., Kane, died Friday afternoon, April 4, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Nov. 30, 1926 in Brookville, she was the daughter of Russell C. and Gladys G. Weirich Gilmore.Â On May 4, 1946 in Johnsonburg, she married Donald E. McMillen, who died in 1998.
Pauline worked at Stackpole in Kane for many years until it closed.Â She then worked in the deli at Quality Markets in Kane for several years.
Bill Weborg, born Sept. 16, 1948 in Kane, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Among Bill Weborgâ€™s many contributions to local architecture are the Erie Cruise Boat Terminal and Lakeshore Country Club, two designs for which he received national recognition from the American Institute of Architects.
Robert R. â€śHeitzieâ€ť Steudler, 83, of Water Street, Johnsonburg, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Lutheran Home of Kane.
He was born March 12, 1931 in Johnsonburg, son of the late William and Mabel (Anderson) Steudler.
On June 6, 1959, he married Joyce A. Kolinoski, and she survives.
He worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for 36 years, retiring in 1992 and also worked for many local farms in his youth.
Karen Sanders Molyneaux Hessney, 56, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, of 411 East State Street, Olean, N.Y., died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at her home after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. At her passing, she was surrounded by beloved family and friends.
She was born Oct. 25, 1957 in Kane, daughter of the late Russell and Betsy Klawuhn Sanders. She grew up in Lanz Corners (Toby Springs) and graduated from Smethport High School in 1975. She received her bachelorâ€™s and masterâ€™s degrees in speech and audiology from Clarion University.
