William Eugene Gillotti, 92, of Mobile, Ala., died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.
He was born April 4, 1921 in Kane, son of the late William and Zella Knapp Gillotti.
He was a 1939 graduate of Kane High School. He served in the Air Force in WW II and was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters Lenore Arena and Gail (Bob) Breidenbach; a son, Eric Gillotti; and brothers Donald, Virgil and Wilbur Gillotti.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Santilli.
Services were held in Mobile, Ala.
B. Pauline McMillen, 87, of 764 JoJo Rd., Kane, died Friday afternoon, April 4, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Nov. 30, 1926 in Brookville, she was the daughter of Russell C. and Gladys G. Weirich Gilmore.Â On May 4, 1946 in Johnsonburg, she married Donald E. McMillen, who died in 1998.
Pauline worked at Stackpole in Kane for many years until it closed.Â She then worked in the deli at Quality Markets in Kane for several years.
Bill Weborg, born Sept. 16, 1948 in Kane, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Among Bill Weborgâ€™s many contributions to local architecture are the Erie Cruise Boat Terminal and Lakeshore Country Club, two designs for which he received national recognition from the American Institute of Architects.
Robert R. â€śHeitzieâ€ť Steudler, 83, of Water Street, Johnsonburg, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Lutheran Home of Kane.
He was born March 12, 1931 in Johnsonburg, son of the late William and Mabel (Anderson) Steudler.
On June 6, 1959, he married Joyce A. Kolinoski, and she survives.
He worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for 36 years, retiring in 1992 and also worked for many local farms in his youth.
Karen Sanders Molyneaux Hessney, 56, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, of 411 East State Street, Olean, N.Y., died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at her home after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. At her passing, she was surrounded by beloved family and friends.
She was born Oct. 25, 1957 in Kane, daughter of the late Russell and Betsy Klawuhn Sanders. She grew up in Lanz Corners (Toby Springs) and graduated from Smethport High School in 1975. She received her bachelorâ€™s and masterâ€™s degrees in speech and audiology from Clarion University.
Vincent N. "Vinny" Scarano, 50, of 623 Suismon Ave., Pittsburgh, and formerly of Johnsonburg, died early Sunday morning, March 16, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1963 in Ridgway, son of Julia Robinson Scarano and the late Nicholas Scarano.
He resided in Pittsburgh for the last 20 years.
He graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1981. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. He had worked at Treasure Lake in DuBois as a Time Share salesman. He had also worked for ZEP Cleaning Products.
Daniel Louis Pierotti, 84, a social justice activist, retired pastor and arts management consultant, died peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014 surrounded by family.
Dan was born Oct. 27, 1929 in the nurturing embrace of his parents, the late Marion Becker Pierotti and the late Louis M. Pierotti, and their extended family community in rural Kane.
With the nearby Allegheny Mountains as his playground, Dan grew up enjoying outdoor activities, especially figure skating, and all manner of mischief with his older brothers Jack and Tom.
Richard L. Dahl, 82, of 7061 Route 6, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at his residence.
Born Jan. 17, 1932, in Kane, he was a son ofÂ the late Elof and Ranghild Johnson Dahl. On June 14, 1963, in Kane, he married Adeline "Addy" Damico who survives.
Mr. Dahl attended college in Williamsport where he studied mechanics. He then worked as a service representative for Dresser Industries in Olean, N.Y., traveling to six continents as he installed and serviced gas turbines and large industrial equipment around the world. After 31 years of service he retired in 1986.
Doris Marie Bonini, 80, of 10 Dayton St., Mt. Jewett, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family and faithful companion, A.J.
Born Feb. 13, 1934, in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late Amer and Marie Moore Silvis. On May 15, 1954, in Mt. Jewett, she married William Bonini who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Bonini would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this May 15.Â
Judith Ann Raymondo, 75, was born June 13, 1938 and died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.Â
I am Judyâ€™s husband, Frank, and I would like to tell you about the wonderful woman I was married to for over 50 years. We were a military family and were fortunate to have only been apart from each other one time while I served in Vietnam. That was a difficult time for Judy as she took care of our young son alone; she handled this challenge, as she would handle everything else in her life, with a smile and quiet determination.
