Vera E. "Midge" Johnson

February 13, 2015

Vera E. "Midge" Johnson, 81, of Worrall Street, Wilcox, and formerly of Mount Jewett, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2015 as the result of an automobile accident on Route 219 in Wilcox. Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, Johnsonburg.

Trilby E. VanKirk

Trilby E. VanKirk, 90, of Smethport, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015 in the Sena-Kean Manor, Smethport, with her sister Adelaide by her side.
She was born Jan. 13, 1925 in McDonald, Ohio, a daughter of the late Glenn Clair and Olive Mae McClimans McDowell. On April 29, 1960, in Smethport, she married Robert E. VanKirk, who died Aug. 29, 2008. Trilby and Robert lived in Maryland for 35 years before moving back to Pennsylvania in 2000.
Trilby attended schools in Crosby, Colegrove, and Smethport High School.

Russell W. "Russ" Trumbull

Russell W. "Russ" Trumbull, 87, of 1456 South Ave., Lewis Run, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at the Bradford Manor.
Born June 17, 1927 in Lewis Run, he was a son of the late Paul and Calista (Crooks) Trumbull. He attended school in Lewis Run.
On Feb. 12, 1948 in Degolia he married Ann (Paul) Trumbull who survives him.
He enlisted in the United States Navy on May 15, 1945 served during WWII, and was honorably discharged Aug. 17, 1946.
He was a member of Lafayette Evangelical Christian Church.

Alma Evada Mague

Alma Evada Mague, 99, of Whetstone Garden and Care Center, Columbus, Ohio, formerly of 128 Bayard St., Kane, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Kobacker House, Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
Alma was born Aug. 3, 1915 at Donahey Hill, Hallton, daughter of the late Robert C. and Anna Agnes Harriger Heeter. Alma was the fifth of 11 children and the last of her immediate family. On Jan. 10, 1934, in Jamestown, N.Y., she married W. Wayne Mague and they celebrated 53 years together.

William J. Leonard, 64, of Dutchman Run Road, Stoneham, died unexpectedly at home Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.
Bill was born March 16, 1950 in Jamestown N.Y., son of the late William H. (Ted) and Elizabeth S. (Libby) Ferry Leonard.

Donna Kay Wolfe

Donna Kay Wolfe, 46, of 105 Clay St., died suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 in the emergency room at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 19, 1968, in Kane, she was a daughter of  the late Virgil and Nancy Nelson Allen. On June 7, 1985, in Kane, she married Larry Wolfe who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, David Wolfe and Luke Wolfe, both of Kane; and a sister, Tammy (Craig) Carlson of Bradford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Travis Wolfe.

Frances K. Meckley

Frances K. Meckley, 97, formerly of 526 Tionesta Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at the Lutheran Home at Kane. 
Born May 22, 1917, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Pasqualina Costanzo Perry. On Nov. 22, 1941, in Kane, she married Orvis S. Meckley Jr. who preceded her in death in 1997.
Fran had worked at various times at the former Shirt Factory, the Temple Theater and Houston Electronics. She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She also had belonged to the CD of A Court Callistus #66 and the former Altar-Rosary Society.

Frances K. Meckley, 91, formerly of 526 Tionesta Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc.

Caroline Carson

January 30, 2015

Caroline Carson, 88, formerly of 6103 Route 66, Kane, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Feb. 14, 1926, in Kane, she was a daughter of Nazzarno and Anna Fontnelli Caramboni. On Feb. 22, 1947, in Kane, she married Emmet R. Carson who preceded her in death.
Caroline was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church. She had been employed by the former Benson Office Supply, Mountain City Bootery and most recently, Carson Landscaping.

Arlene Ruth Park

Arlene Ruth Park, 98, formerly of Mt. Jewett, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born Nov. 4, 1916, in Sargeant, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Ruth Hanson Swanson. On Nov. 16, 1940, in Warren, she married Woodrow Park who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Park graduated from Bradford High School in 1933 and from the Hamsher House in Bradford as a registered nurse. She worked at Bradford Hospital and then did private-duty nursing after that. She also worked for a few years in New Jersey and Texas while living in those states.
