Donald E. Whitmore, 83, of Grandview Estates in Kane, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Randolph, Vt., he was a son of Oscar and Flava Gordon Whitmore.Â On Jan. 13, 1951, in Bethel, Vt., he married Barbara Upton who survives.
Mr. Whitmore served in the U.S. Army.
He had been employed as a mill supervisor at Otter Creek but due to a serious accident at work had to retire in 1981.
Anthony Thomas Vito, 91, of Levittown, passed away Sept. 28 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Langhorne. Â
He attended Kane High School, graduating in 1941. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and after basic training was assigned to the Third Infantry Division. He participated in invasions in Africa, Sicily, Italy and Southern France. Anthony received the Bronze Star Medal and two Purple Hearts as well as Laurels from the French Government. During a brief visit to Rome he was granted an audience with the Pope.
Richard H. "Dick" Farnsworth, 71, of 811 Washington St., St. Marys, died at his home on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 following a battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 20, 1941 in New Millport, a son of the late Russell and Bertha Chittister Farnsworth.
On Feb. 4, 1967 in St. Mary's Church, he married Joan Hoffman Farnsworth, who survives.
Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been discharged in January of 1968. He made his career working at St. Marys Carbon and Stackpole Carbon Company. He also spent time as a truck driver and working at the All American Car Wash.
Carsen T. Davis, 13, of 400 Maple St., Kane, died early morning Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 after a life-long illness.
Born Sept. 3, 1999 in St. Marys, he was the son of Megan Wile and William Davis, Jr.
Catholic by faith, Carsen enjoyed music, walks, going to school and Colts football. Even though Carsen's life on earth was brief, he had a profound impact on those lives he touched.Â He will be sadly missed by family, school friends and the community.
Marion R. Lobaugh, 85, of Campbelltown Road, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born July 28, 1927, in Corsica, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Oakes Fitzsimmons.Â On May 18, 1947, in Smethport, she married Howard Lobaugh who preceded her in death in 2001.
Mrs. Lobaugh, a homemaker, is survived by three sons, Howard (Diane) Lobaugh II of Johnsonburg, Charles (Susie) Lobaugh of Annapolis, Md. and Harry (Cathy) Lobaugh of Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Milbourne of Mt. Joy; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ronald H. Davidson, 85, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Corry Manor.
Born April 29, 1927, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Henry and Nora M. Black Davidson.Â
Before his retirement, Mr. Davidson was employed by Allied Van Lines and owned Ronâ€™s Delivery Service.
During World War II, he served in Italy with the U.S. Army in Company C, 349th Infantry.
Thomas E. Cunningham, 86, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Kane
Born April 4, 1926, in Russell City, he was a son of the late Hearl and Ruth Bushley Cunningham.Â On April 29, 1978, in Sharon, he married Margaret Himes who survives.
Mr. Cunningham was employed by PennDOT, retiring in 1980.Â He had belonged to the Kane Country Club and was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge #130Â and served as a past governor.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Pauline F. Coldren, 96, E. Mill St., passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, in the Bradford Nursing Pavilion.
Born Dec. 18, 1915, in Petrolia, N.Y., she was a daughter of Carroll M. and Lulu M. Wentworth Richardson. On Jan. 21, 1936, in Limestone, N.Y., she married Carl R. Coldren, who died July 9, 2001. They were married 65 years.
She was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of the Bradford, High School, Class of â€ś35â€ť.
She was a member of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church of Coryville, Ladies Home Extension, Penn State University, and a former 4H leader.
Frances Elaine Andrews, 88, of New Port Richey, Fla. passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the Medical Center of Trinity in New Port Richey, Fla.
Born Frances Elaine Bailey in Kane, she graduated from Kane High School and married her high school sweetheart, Robert B. Andrews, in 1942. They raised their family in Warren, before retiring to New Port Richey in 1988.
Rosemary L. Bloomquist, 89, of 324 Warren Rd., died, Monday, Oct. 8,2012, at WCA Hospital.
She was born May 14,1923 in Sargeant, the daughter of Philip and Christina Amitone Scutella.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Frewsburg.
