Faith E. Penworth, 100, of 226 Weownit Rd., Emporium, died at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 in the afternoon.
She was born Jan. 21, 1913 in Liberty, a daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Orpha Hudson Stoddard.
In 1946 in Tunkhannock she married the late Elmer Penworth, who died in 1982.
Mrs. Penworth was a member of the Methodist Church in Hazelhurst and Mt. Jewett and a member of the Mt. Jewett Senior Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Groff, Emporium and several step-great grandchildren.
Charles H. Bertzfield Sr., 72, of 1763 Wetmore Rd., Kane, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at his residence.
Born Oct. 24, 1940, in Landisville,Â he was a son ofÂ the late John and Elva Delinger Bertzfield. On Sept. 8, 1979, in Blue Ridge Summit,Â he married Carole Burns, who survives.
Earlier in his life, Mr. Bertzfield had operated personal care homes and had also owned antique shops. He belonged to the Presbyterian Church, the AARP and the American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, remodeling and woodworking and loved spending time with his family.
Drew S. Wile, 25, of 111 Dawson St., Kane, died early Friday morning, Feb. 8, 2013 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident atop James City Hill.
Born June 30, 1987 in Kane, he was the son of Betsy A. Hallberg Wile and Tim R. Wile.
Drew was a fabricator for Portville Truck, Portville, N.Y. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #329 in Kane, where he enjoyed bowling, and belonged to the Kane Area Pool League. He also enjoyed working on his truck.

Florence A. Gezik, 89, of 251 Ohio Ave., James City, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 8, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Jan. 29, 1924, in East Kane, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Johanna Schmader Grolemund.Â On Nov. 22, 1947, in Kane, she married Emery J. Gezik who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gezik had worked at Houston Electronics, was later employed in housekeeping at the Kane Community Hospital andÂ finally had worked as a nurse's aide at the hospital.Â She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church.
Anthony D. Gallo, age 86, of the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, formerly of Kent Boulevard, Salamanca, N.Y., died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013 following a long illness.
Born Feb. 13, 1926 in Kane, he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Perri Gallo.
Mr. Gallo was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II on both the USS Savannah and the USS Altair. He was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.
Victor H. Peterson, age 92, of Lantz Corners, formerly of Kushequa, passed away at home unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.Â
He was born May 14, 1920, in Bradford, son of the late Ivan and BedaÂ Samuelson Peterson.Â On Aug. 16, 1947, he married Joyce V. Martinson in the Kushequa Union Church.Â
Anthony G. Haulik, 87, of 100 High Point Dr., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1925, in James City, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie Urban Haulik.Â On Jan. 25, 1949, in Kane, he married Carol Leoffler who preceded him in death.
Mr. Haulik had worked as a credit manager for the Sarasota Herald Tribune in Florida where he had previously resided.Â He belonged to the D.A.V. and St. Callistus Catholic Church and was a past member of the Kane Elks Lodge.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Tec 5.
Charles E. Rolfe, Jr., 57, of 17262 Kevin Dr., Meadville,Â formerly of Kane, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center.
Born Nov. 27, 1955,Â he was a son of Charles E.Â and Ann Zuzek Rolfe Sr.Â On Sept. 20, 1986, in Meadville, he married Kelly S. Weidow who survives.
Charles was a State Police officer and was a corporal at the time of his retirement in 2010 at Meadville.Â He had also been stationed at various timesÂ at Clarion, Franklin, Washington and Mt. Jewett.
Marilyn O. Brinkley, 69, of 113 Haines St., Kane, died Thursday evening, Jan. 24, 2013 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born March 18, 1943 in Kane, she was the daughter of Howard D. and Ellen I. Anderson Hannold.Â On Aug. 11, 1962 in Kane, she married Thomas E. Brinkley, who survives.
Mrs. Brinkley had worked at Houston Electronics in Kane, then later for the Arcade Restaurant and the Shady Point Restaurant, both in Kane, as a short-order cook, retiring from the latter in 2005.
A member of St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, she enjoyed Bingo, slot machines and doing computer puzzles.
