Julia E. â€śJudyâ€ť Bressler, 93, formerly of Johnsonburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Kane where she had been a resident since 1996.
Born March 3, 1919, in Renova, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy F. and Emma Stewart Bressler.
Miss Bressler lived most of her life in Johnsonburg and was a member of the Methodist Church there and had worked for the Stackpole Corporation until her retirement in 1970.Â She was also a member of the D.A.R.
Marcel Charles Lang Jr., 84, formerly of Whispering Oaks, Hermitage, Warren, and Mt. Jewett, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Orange Village Care Center, Masury, Ohio.
Stanley "Beck" Debevec was born on Dec. 4, 1924 and on April 18, 2012 was led to heaven by his angel at the age of 87.Â
Beck was born in James City. He and his wife, Rose, owned and operated Beck's Cafe (now James City Cafe) for many years.
Graveside services with military honor guard will be held at St. Callistus Cemetery on Sept. 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life following at the Highland Township Fire Department in James City.
Thelma J. Clark, 82, of 287 Spring St., Kane, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1929 in Highland, she was the daughter of Roy E. and Edna J. Wickert Neely.Â On Aug. 15, 1955 in Baltimore, Md., she married James L. Clark, who died in 2000.
Mrs. Clark worked at Stackpole Corp. in Kane for many years, and later at The Lutheran Home at Kane for several years.
She was a member of the First Church of God and a Life Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, both in Kane.
Mary N. Housler-Slocum, 88, of 9605 Rte. 6, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 27, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Ceasare and Delfina Colacchio Pucci.Â On April 28, 1946, she married Robert L. Housler Sr. who preceded her in death.Â She later married Leonard W. Slocum who also preceded her in death.
Patricia A. Harp, 71, of 15 Kushequa Ave. in Mt. Jewett, formerly of Marienville, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 5, 2012 at the Kane Community Hospital after a recent illness.
Born March 17, 1941 in Allison Park, she was the daughter of George L. and Anna L. Lane Schreiber.Â On Feb. 13, 1960 in Lucinda, she married Forest W. Harp, who died in 2007.
Catholic by faith, she served in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii, then had worked as a packer for Owens Illinois in Brockport.
Lucille M. Swanson, 91, of Mt. Jewett, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Oct. 2, 1920, in Mt. Jewett, she was a daughter of Oscar F. and Ellen M. Anderson. On March 25, 1946, at Nebo Lutheran Church in Mt. Jewett, she married Ray D. Swanson who preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2007.
Linda M. Silvis, 79, of 966 JoJo Road, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Kane Community Hospital.
Born April 14, 1933, she was a daughter of Norbert and Eva Brinkley Aaron.Â On Aug. 7, 1954, at St. Dominicâ€™s Catholic Church in Sigel, she married Charles Silvis who preceded her in death on July 7, 2012.
Mrs. Silvis was a member of St. Callistus Church and belonged to the C.D. of A. Court Callistus #66.Â She also had been active in the Boy Scouts and the 4 H Club.Â
Elsie S. Yaegle, 97, formerly of 110 Elm St., Warren, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Warren General Hospital after a short illness.Â
She had been a resident at the Watson Home since 2005, where she made many wonderful friends.
Nancy E. Hipchen, 81, of 1200 Conewango Ave., Warren, and formerly of Mt. Jewett, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Warren General Hospital.
Born Aug. 13, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of Mont and Beatrice Daugherty.Â On Nov. 17, 1948, in Port Allegany,Â she married C. Duane Hipchen who preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Hipchen had been employed for many years by Corning.Â Her greatest joy was cooking and she loved preparing dishes for others who appreciated her help in times of need. She also enjoyed passing on her cooking skills to her family and friends.
