Lena D. Costanzo

Lena D.  Costanzo, 89, formerly of 222 Janeway St., died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 29, 2012, at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport.
Born May 3, 1922, in Kane, she was a daughter of Angelo and Margaret Discello Costanzo.
Before retirement, Miss Costanzo had been employed at Stackpole in Kane. She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Francis W. Ahlberg

Francis W. Ahlberg, 89, of 6558 Route 321, Kane, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 29, 2012, at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1922 in Wilcox, he was the son of Olof and Cora Silvis Ahlberg. On Aug. 15, 1947 in East Kane, he married Mary A. Stakley, who died in 1990.
Mr. Ahlberg served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Italy and North Africa, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal. Later, he worked for the Pennsylvania Highway Dept. for many years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Wilcox Sportsman's Club, the Kane Fish & Game Club and the American Legion in Wilcox.

Linda J. Paar

Linda J. Paar, 63, of 80 E. Main St., Mt. Jewett, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 27, 2012, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Nov. 12, 1948, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Elaine Balon Greenawalt. On May 17, 1969, in Mt. Jewett, she married Kordon J. Paar who survives.
Mrs. Paar was employed as a secretary for Paar Transportation Services in Mt. Jewett. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Also, she was an avid bingo player and loved her two cats and dog.

George T. "Tim" Timblin

George T. "Tim" Timblin, Jr., 65, of 156 Dewey Ave. in Hazel Hurst, formerly of Marienville for many years, died Saturday evening, Feb. 25, 2012 at the Bradford Manor.
Born Jan. 12, 1947 in Kane, he was the son of George T. and Lucille K. Oliver Timblin.
Mr. Timblin was a machine operator for Highland Resources in Marienville for many years, moving to Hazel Hurst in the past year. He served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Luella M. Luck

Luella M. Luck, 88, of 430 Elk Ave., Kane, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 24, 2012 at her residence.
Born July 18, 1923 in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of Every and Elizabeth Yaun Foster. On Oct. 30, 1946 in Ridgway, she married Bernard W. Luck, who survives.

Marjorie A. Johnston

Marjorie A. Johnston, 85, formerly of Smithfield Avenue, Kane, died late Thursday evening, Feb. 23, 2012 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Oct. 29, 1926 in East Kane, she was the daughter of Joseph E. and Julia A. Walters Eck. On June 8, 1962 in Kane, she married John E. Johnston, who died in 1992.
Mrs. Johnston was a babysitter in the area for many years.

Joyce E. Peterson

Joyce E. Peterson, 80, of 8302 Route 6, near Kane, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, 2012 at Sena Kean Manor, where she recently resided.
Born Jan. 15, 1932 in Kane, she was the daughter of Robert L. and Edith Peterson Swedenhjelm. On Oct. 31, 1953 in Kane, she married Kenneth J. Peterson, who died Feb. 18, 1996.
She had worked at the Market Basket in Kane for 18 years, retiring as manager of the Ben Franklin department.

Agnese C. Giordano

Agnese C. Giordano, 88, of 66 Ann Lane, Bradford, passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center. 
She was born on Aug. 4, 1923 in Rome, Italy, a daughter of the late Emdis and Maria Fedechi Cagnoli.
On Jan. 28, 1946 she married John A. Giordano in Italy, who passed away on March 18, 1979.
She attended Catholic schools in Rome, Italy.
She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church.
She was employed as a furrier for 36 years at the former S.K. Tate Furs and Fashion Land and later by the Bradford Era for 16 years.

Samuel Bobish

Samuel Bobish, 84, of 403 Lindholm Rd., Mt. Jewett, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, 2012, at his residence after a lengthy illness. 
He was born on Jan 28, 1928 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Mike and Helen (Bosich) Bobish. He and Mildred, his wife of 57 years, were married on March 29, 1954 in Winchester, Va.
Mr. Bobish served in the Army during the Korean War and was as Purple Heart recipient. He retired from General Motors in Buffalo where he worked for 21 years, and prior to that he was employed as a supervisor for J & L Steel in Pittsburgh for 24 years.

James Stephen Sennett

James Stephen Sennett, 89, of Seven Lakes, N.C., died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
He was born in St. Marys, son of the late Clifford J. and Catherine F. Sennett. Following graduation from Penn State University, he was employed as Sales Manager for Stackpole Inc. He was an avid golfer, friend to all, a man of integrity and always a gentleman. He was a devoted husband and a loving father.
During WW II, he served in the Army Air Corps with the 319th Bombardier Squadron and was involved in combat duty in the Mediterranean Theatre.
