Pearl A. Bradybaugh, 99, formerly of 43 Brickyard Rd. nearÂ East Kane, died Tuesday morning, March 8, 2011 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born June 21, 1911 in East Kane, she was the daughter of Norman H. and Loie M. Knapp Quick.Â On May 30, 1928 in Kane, she married Harry A. Bradybaugh, who died in 1982.
A homemaker, Mrs. Bradybaugh was a member of the East Kane United Methodist Church and the Mountain Grange #1307 near Kane.
Thomas Ruggiers, 74, of 198 School St., died Tuesday, March 8, near his home in East Kane.
Born May 17, 1936, in Kane, he was a son of Joseph and Genevieve Anderson Ruggiers.Â On May 12, 1997, in Winchester, Va., he married Sherillyn Olson Johnson who survives.
Mr. Ruggiers was employed as a truck driver for UPS.Â He belonged to the Moose Lodge in Warren and the Rod and Gun Club in Lakewood, NY.
He served in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1962 with a rank of Radioman 2. He belonged to the Neosho Association which is an organization named after the ship on which he served.
Darlene M. Duck, 58, of 106 Clay St., died Monday, March 7, 2011, at her residence.
Born Dec. 30, 1952, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Wolbert Johnson.Â On Dec. 19, 1973, in Kane, she married Robert Duck who survives.
Mrs. Duck had been a bar manager at both the Vets Club and the Eagles Club in Kane.Â She was a loving mother to her children as well as to many others.
Joel H. Peterson, 54, of 6 Pete Ln., died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at his residence.
Born July 19, 1956, in Kane, he was a son of the late Herbert and Viola Lundblad Peterson.Â
Mr. Peterson was self-employed as a window tinter.
Thomas F. Kraft, 80, died unexpectedly at the Warren General Hospital on Tuesday Feb. 15, 2011.
Sandy P. Cecchetti, 81, of 90 Reigel Rd., died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Nov. 10, 1929, in James City, he was a son of Albert and Amelia Seri Cecchetti.Â On Aug. 23, 1952, in Kane, he married Winnie Kraft who survives.
Mr. Cecchetti served in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He was a graduate of Kane High School class of 1947 and a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church.Â He enjoyed hunting and fishing and all outdoor sports.
Until his retirement in 1993, he was employed as an auto transporter for Anchor Motor Freights.
Betty F. Nelson, 85, formerly of Wilcox, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys.
Born Dec. 16, 1925, in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of Raymond F. and Margaret Eleden Fleming.Â On July 14, 1958, in Arlington, Va., she married James F. Nelson who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Nelson, a homemaker, had worked at Stackpole.Â She also had been employed as a cook at the former Cherryâ€™s Restaurant in Johnsonburg.
She was a past member of the Wilcox American Legion Auxiliary and had served as a Sunday School teacher at the Wilcox Presbyterian Church.
Florence E. Stiles, 81, of 13 Blaisdell Ave., passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at her residence.
Born Sept. 12, 1929, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence (Bair) Rutledge.
On June 26, 1948 in East Kane, she married JohnÂ Stiles who survives.Â
Mrs. Stiles was a 1948 graduate of Kane High School. She had worked as a waitress at the Arcade Restaurant in Kane, and at numerous restaurants in Bradford. She later was employed at Zippo Manufacturing.
Frank L. Bizzak, 89, of 6743 Highland Rd., Kane, died Monday morning, Feb. 21, 2011 at his residence.
Born June 21, 1921 in Kane, he was the son of John and Mary Cehovin Bizzak.Â On Feb. 10, 1969 in Bradford, he married the former Nancy E. Besecker, who died Oct. 11, 1994.
An Army Air Force Airman during WWII, Mr. Bizzak later co-owned and operated Bizzak Beer Distributor in KaneÂ for over 17 years, and then worked for the Carpenters Union, Pittsburgh, for over 17 years.Â He was also an EMT for the Kane Ambulance Service for several years.
Elizabeth A. â€śBettyâ€ť Morton, 78, formerly of 117 Welsh St., Kane, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2011 at the Erie County Home in Lancaster, N.Y.
Born Aug. 11, 1932 in Kane, she was the daughter of Harry â€śFatsâ€ť and Marjorie Kilmer Swedenhjelm. In 1952 she moved to Niagara Falls, N.Y. where she married Herbert Simmons, Jr., now her former husband, of Wyoming.
Mrs. Morton attended Bayar Statton College and worked for several judges offices. In 1990, she returned to Kane to care for her father in 1990.
