Gayle L. Belden

Gayle L. Belden, 58, of 16 Anderson St., Mt. Jewett, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born April 19, 1956, in Kane, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Carol Stroup who survive. She was married in Smethport to Ronald Belden who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Belden had been employed as a home health care aide in Ohio where she lived until last year. Prior to that, she had worked as a nurse's aide at Sena Kean Manor. She also was a member of the Red Hats in Ohio.

Karlene M. Swanson

Karlene M. Swanson, 66, of 5 Jackson Ave., Mt. Jewett, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at her home.
Born Dec. 29, 1947, in Mt. Jewett, she was a daughter of the late Verle and Twila Hillyard Keller. On Feb. 7, 1970, in Mt. Jewett, she married Bill Swanson who survives.
Mrs. Swanson loved riding motorcycles with her husband. She had been employed by Keystone Thermister in Mt. Jewett, from which she retired in 2004 and was a member of the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church.

JoAnn "Tuby" Dodrill

JoAnn "Tuby" Dodrill, 79, of 15 South Edgar St., Kane, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born Jan. 3, 1935 in Wellsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Vernon M. and Blanche E. McCracken Simpson. On June 1, 1957 in Wellsburg, she married Fredric M. Dodrill, who died in 2006.

Philip Paul Frase

Philip Paul Frase, 41, of 75 Perry Ln., Zebulon, N.C., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at his residence.
Born Aug. 15, 1973, in Kane, he was a son of the late Douglas Frase and Patricia Cole Roesch.
Mr. Frase attended Kane High School and was employed as a construction worker.

Philip Paul Frase, 41, of 75 Perry Lane, Zebulon, N.C., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at his residence.

JoAnn Dodrill, 79, of 15 S. Edgar St., Kane, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15, 2014 at her home.  Arrangements, in the care of the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., are incomplete and will be announced.

Joni J. Bednar Capoccioni

Joni J. Bednar Capoccioni, 51, of New Bethlehem, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 5, 1962, in Natrona Heights, a daughter of John J. Bednar of Kane, and the late Dorothy Wojcik Bednar.
Joni worked as a bookkeeper for Bednar Metals in Kane. She loved caring for her “farm” of animals, enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family.

Robert L. Gerhart

Robert L. Gerhart, 84, formerly of 525 Greeves St., Kane, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 9, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where he resided.
Born March 24, 1930 in Kane, he was the son of Louis and Sara Heasley Gerhart. On June 8, 1957 in Kane, he married Edythe Swedenjelm, who survives.
Mr. Gerhart worked in the paint line at Stackpole Corp. in Kane for many years. He was a C.B. Radio enthusiast, going by the handle "Ringo"; enjoyed drawing and woodworking, and was a music aficionado, with the Beatles being his favorite.

Irene A. Townsend

Irene A. Townsend, 95, of 443 Bayard St., died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born June 12, 1919, in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Mills McCloskey.  On Jan. 31, 1942, in Port Allegany, she married Robert Townsend who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2001.
Mrs. Townsend, a homemaker, had worked at Sylvania during World War II. She had also previously served as a den mother with the Cub Scouts for many years.

Bruce E. Horam

Bruce E. Horam, 81, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Kane, formerly of 524 1/2 Tionesta Ave., Kane, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1, 2014 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 10, 1933 in Mt. Jewett, he was the son of Harry and Elizabeth Horam Horam. On July 16, 1955 in Greenwood, he married Eva Moore, who died in 2010.
Mr. Horam served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from which he received the Purple Heart.
He had worked at the Tannery in Wilcox, then at Kane Handle, and later at Erie Industrial Clark - Erie as a forklift mechanic.
