Patrick Anderson has proven this summer why he is one of the best pole vaulters in the nation.
With a record number of vaulters, 50 in all and the temperatures above 100, Anderson put together a group of good vaults which brought him home sixth-place honors at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Wichita, Kansas. He started his first attempt at 14'1" and had no trouble clearing it. The bar was then moved to 14'7" with only 24 vaulters left in the competition. Pat cleared it again on his first attempt.
