October 18th
The Kane Lady Wolves’ soccer team played their final game of the season on Thursday, hosting the 15-2 Curwensville Golden Tide.
RIDGWAY – Kane rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Ridgway Lady Elkers 3-2 on Thursday night at Ridgway Area High School.
October 17th
Taylor Bucheit scored four goals in the Lady Wolves’ 5-4 victory over West Forest on Wednesday in Kane.
The junior got the home team on the scoreboard early when she took a pass from Dawn Saquin and knocked a shot by the Lady Fires’ goalie a little more than one minute into the game to get the ball rolling for Kane.
October 16th
The Kane Lady Wolves’ volleyball team took on a young Sheffield squad on Tuesday night in the Wolves’ Den. The Lady Wolves won the first game 25-19, lost the second 25-22, won the third game 25-14, and rallied in the fourth to win the game 25-20 and take the match.
With the win, the Lady Wolves improve to 9-4 on the season with three matches left on the schedule.
The Kane Lady Wolves soccer team outshot the visiting Brockway Rovers on Tuesday afternoon but had a hard time finding the back of the net and ended up losing 5-2 in their first of three home games in three days.
The home team got off on the right foot when Maria Newton scored with just over one minute into the game.
October 15th
The Kane boys’ soccer team played one of the premier teams in District 9 in their final home game of the 2012 season. Senior Zach Hadfield played his final game in Kane against the 15-1 Brockway Rovers.
October 14th
The Kane Lady Wolves’ volleyball team held its annual varsity tournament on Saturday in the Wolves’ Den. The Lady Wolves dominated their half of the bracket in the round robin, sweeping Smethport, Curwensville, and Brockway and splitting with Brockway to earn the top seed going into the playoffs from their bracket.
October 12th
The Kane Wolves and Johnsonburg Rams both entered Friday night’s game coming off of huge, emotional wins last week but it was the Wolves who pulled away with a 41-0 shutout victory.
Kane head coach Todd Silfies’ Wolves came out firing on all cylinders as soon as the whistle blew on Friday night while Johnsonburg seemed to come out flat after last week’s win over arch-rival Ridgway.
October 10th
PUNXSUTAWNEY – The Kane Lady Wolves traveled the long miles to Punxsutawney to get swept in three games, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22, falling to 8-3 on the season.
October 9th
The Kane Wolves boys’ soccer team hosted the St. Marys Dutchmen on Tuesday afternoon in a 6-0 losing effort.
The Wolves played hard, and midway through the first half the game was scoreless, but the visitors scored three goals in 10 minutes to go into halftime with a big lead and went on to win 6-0 to keep Kane winless.
