Lady Wolves soccer drops 5-3 decision to Smethport

September 12, 2012

The Kane girls’ soccer team played some very good soccer during Wednesday’s contest against Smethport.
Unfortunately, they did not play consistently good soccer for long periods of time during the game, and wound up on the losing end of a 5-3 score.
The Lady Wolves started out strong, with the bulk of the early action taking place in front of the Smethport goal. Taylor Bucheit got Kane’s first decent scoring opportunity when Shyanne Todd cleared a ball nearly the length of the field and Bucheit caught up with it before the goalie could make a stop.

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader volleyball team raised their dual match record to 3-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over the Kane Lady Wolves Tuesday night at the ECCHS gym.
Elk Catholic won the first set by a 25-20 score. They took the second set 25-17 and won the third set by a 25-12 score.
“That was a very good win against a quality Kane team,” said ECCHS coach Diane Gies. “I think our best game was our third game tonight. Our blocking at the net was outstanding.”
