The Kane Lady Wolves swept DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals in three sets on Thursday in the Wolves’ Den. The Lady Wolves won by scores of 25-17, 25-9 and 25-14 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Kane head varsity volleyball coach Judy Kessler’s squad played a little lackadaisical to start the match. The set was tied at 11 before Kane started serving better and turned the tide.
The Kane Lady Wolves soccer team lost 5-0 to Elk County Catholic on Thursday in a game shortened by lightening.
The Lady Wolves kept the game scoreless for the first 10 minutes, but the visitors got on the scoreboard twice in less than five minutes to dig themselves into a hole against the Crusaders.
Dawn Saquin and Taylor Bucheit had a couple nice runs downfield, but weren’t able to get off a shot on the ECC goal. After the Crusaders padded their lead to 3-0, Saquin had a nice pass to Nerissa Rich, who got off a shot, but it was wide left.
