November 23rd
W. James Host, a native of Sheffield who was born at the Kane Community Hospital, was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 17.
November 19th
The Kane Area High School varsity cheerleading competition team was dealt a big blow just days before the 30th the Annual Pennsylvania State Cheerleading Championships, held this past weekend at the Kovalchick Complex on Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s campus.

MT. JEWETT – A total of 45 bears harvested throughout five different counties were processed at the Pennsylvania Game Commission's bear check station in Mt. Jewett on Saturday, the opening day of this year's four-day bear season. Of those bears, the majority-- 31-- were female, and most had been harvested in McKean County.

CLARION – For the second straight week, the Wolves jumped out to an early 14-0 lead. For the second straight week, Kane’s opponent rallied to go ahead late in the fourth quarter. For the second straight week, the Wolves offense methodically marched down the field to score the go-ahead touchdown late in the game.
November 15th
The Kane Wolves will play the Karns City Gremlins at Clarion University on Friday at 7 p.m. in the District 9 Class AA Championship game. The Wolves earned their way to the finals with a 35-34 overtime win over the Brookville Raiders while the Gremlins defeated St Marys 34-14 to advance to the finals.
November 14th
It’s a long way from Kane, but Gary Meckley’s 1960 classmates were sure he would fly to the lunar surface one day. According to the whimsical Senior Class Prophecy, the talented thin-clad would make it there with the aid of only his trusty steel pole. In his Senior Yearbook, his cohorts wrote “The class of 1960 held its 25th annual reunion at Crater Inn on the moon, United States Territory. The classmates flew there by way of Missile Space Lines, except for Gary Meckley, who came via pole vault.
November 12th
Jim Gibson and Pat Tigani have been selected for induction into the Pennsylvania American Legion Sports Hall of Fame. They are being recognized for their years of dedicated service, contributing to the advancement of the Legion Baseball Program and devotion to youth in the community.
November 9th
The Kane Wolves survived the first round of the District 9, Class AA playoffs with a thrilling 35-34 win over the Brookville Raiders at Paul R Miller Stadium on Friday night.
November 8th
The 6-3 Kane Wolves will host the 6-4 Brookville Raiders on Friday night in a District 9 Class AA semifinal game.
The second-seeded Wolves got some help from Otto-Eldred, Sheffield and Ridgway, all of whom won games in week 10 and helped the idle Wolves earn some more Power Points to earn the right to play at home in the first round.
