Lady Wolves begin district playoffs tonight

February 19, 2013

The Kane Lady Wolves’ basketball team will host the Curwensville Golden Tide tonight in a quarterfinal game of the District 9 AA playoffs. The 19-5 Lady Wolves are the top-seeded team out of the eight-team bracket. The eighth-seeded Tide enter the postseason with a 9-14 record but Kane coach Dave Kiehl probably won’t have to do much motivating to get his team to play hard. The Lady Wolves played Curwensville in their final game of the regular season, and escaped with a narrow 40-35 victory after trailing much of the game.

ERIE – The Kane Cheer Club competed in the 2013 Cheer Starz Nationals at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center in Erie this past Saturday and came home with two first-place finishes.
Kane started the day by competing in the varsity division which included several teams Kane had no experience against all season long. They still came out on top, beating all teams in the varsity division. Next, they moved on to their varsity non-tumble routine and put another nice run together beating all the teams in this division as well.
