The Kane Lady Wolves’ softball team had their season come to a disappointing end earlier this week when they lost a marathon 12-inning contest with the Port Allegany Lady Gators in the first round of the PIAA Class A playoffs.

Nicholson takes fourth in state in javelin

SHIPPENSBURG – Kane’s Morgan Nicholson threw the javelin 132’ 10” during Saturday’s PIAA AA Championship Meet at Shippensburg University. The throw placed the Lady Wolves’ junior fourth in the state and earned her a medal. Nicholson also competed in the shot put, which was held immediately after the javelin on Saturday.

Anderson and Rolick earn state medals in pole vault

SHIPPENSBURG – Twelve members of the Kane boys’ and girls’ track teams made the journey to the PIAA Championship Meet to compete with the best athletes in Pennsylvania. Two members of the team, Nick Anderson and Sean Rolick, placed in the top eight in the state to earn medals. The PIAA meet began Friday morning at Shippensburg University on an unseasonably cold, windy day.

Six members of the Kane boys’ track and field team and six members of the girls’ team head to the PIAA Championship meet today. Competition begins on Friday morning at Shippensburg University with some of the best high school athletes in the country competing for state medals.

Lady Wolves lose to Port Allegany to end season

The Kane Lady Wolves softball team’s season came to a heartbreaking end on Monday when the Lady Wolves lost to Port Allegany in 12 innings on a close play at the plate.

Kane boys earn D9 AA crown for consecutive year

The Kane High School boys track and field team came away with the District IX Class AA Championship for the second consecutive year, with some outstanding performances by the Kane boys. Because of their efforts, Kane will be advancing six boys on to the state championship meet to be held this Friday and Saturday at Shippensburg University. 

Girls track team earns second-place finish

The Kane girls’ track and field team finished second in Friday’s District IX AA Championship meet with 73 points, behind Brookville who took the team title with 98 points.

District IX AA Track and Field Championship to be held in Kane today

Kane’s Paul R Miller stadium will host some of the top track and field athletes in Pennsylvania this afternoon at the District IX AA Track and Field Championship meet. Field events will begin at 3 p.m., with track events scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Kane Area High School students will be dismissed early.
