Wolves drop home game to West Forest

September 30, 2013

The Kane boys’ soccer team hosted the West Forest Fire on Monday and came away with a 5-1 loss.
Neither team was able to score for the first 20 minutes as both teams missed chances at the net. The visitors got onto the scoreboard first with 20:41 left in the half when a Fire player scored among a crowd in front of Kane goalie Tyler Schleicher. The team from Tionesta tacked on two more goals before the break.

Wolves roll over Tide 42-8 in battle of AML South unbeatens

The Kane Wolves dominated Friday night’s game with Curwensville on both sides of the ball, winning the battle of 4-0 AML South teams by a score of 42-8. The Wolves’ defense, led by senior lineman Evan Delong, forced four turnovers and the Wolves offense scored early and often against the visiting Golden Tide.

Wolves ready to take on Golden Tide in Homecoming tilt

The Kane Wolves survived a wild game with Brockway last Friday, rallying for a 35-31 win in a battle of 3-0 teams. Things don’t get any easier this week as Kane coach Todd Silfies’ Wolves host the Curwensville Golden Tide in a clash between two 4-0 AML South heavyweights.

Lady Wolves defeat Lady Cardinals in three sets By Amy Geer

The Kane Lady Wolves hosted the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals on Thursday night in volleyball action. The Lady Wolves weren’t very cordial hosts as they made short work of the visitors, defeating them in three sets, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-15.

St. Marys girls defeat Lady Wolves in Kane

The St. Marys Lady Dutch made the trip to Kane on Thursday and left town with a 4-0 win over the Lady Wolves.

Kane performs well at Bradford Invitational

On Saturday, the Kane Wolves cross country team competed at the Bradford Invitational. Eight teams were in attendance. The Kane Girls Varsity race started off the day with Kane finishing fifth overall led by Taylor Beimel who finished eighth with a time of 22:29. This was Taylor’s first race of the season and she ran a strong race and has a good chance to be a four-time state qualifier. Kelsey Johnson 23rd and Maria Newton 29th also medaled with times of 24:50 and 25:48 respectively. Olivia Blackmore 26:34 and Allie Taylor 34:36 finished the scoring for Kane.

Ridgway girls soccer downs Kane, 6-0

A second-half surge from Ridgway girls soccer led to a 6-0 win over the Kane Lady Wolves Tuesday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.

Wolves show improvement on field but lose to Hubs

The Kane Wolves boys soccer team is still looking for their first win of the season but they are definitely improving as the season goes on. The Wolves opened their season with a 7-0 loss to the Smethport Hubbers on the road. Kane hosted the Hubs on Tuesday afternoon and did end up on the losing end of the score, 4-0, but Kane coach Ernie Chamberlain said he can see some things going right for the Wolves.

Kane girls soccer team downs Smethport 3-1

The Kane Lady Wolves put together a solid 80 minutes of soccer on their way to posting a 3-1 victory over Smethport on Monday on the Lady Wolves’ home field. Kane’s defense held the Lady Hubs to only five shots on the day, while the offense clicked and had a number of quality scoring chances throughout the game.
