May 6th
The Kane Lady Wolves ended a two-game slide on Monday in a big way, defeating the Sheffield Lady Wolverines by a score of 19-3 in three innings. The Lady Wolves had a bad taste in their mouths after two lopsided losses to Elk County Catholic and Curwensville last week.
May 5th
ALTOONA – The Kane Lady Wolves Track team came through with some exceptional performances on the way to winning the team title of the Altoona West Central Coaches Track and Field Invitational on Friday. The Lady Wolves finished at the top of 43 AA teams from throughout the state with 73 points. The rest of the top five were Forest Hills (71), Tyrone (60), Elk County Catholic (52) and Johnsonburg (48).
The Elk County Veterinary Clinic (ECVC) is now offering a full-service large animal division along with emergency services after bringing Dr. Megan Cassels-Conway on board just over two weeks ago.
May 3rd
First-year Kane coach Josh Lindemuth was hoping the Wolves could manage a sweep at home this week after defeating Brockway on Wednesday and Curwensville on Thursday. The Wolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Port Allegany Gators answered with four runs in the top of the second and outlasted the home team 11-7 at Pat Santilli Field on Friday.
May 2nd
The Kane Wolves won their second straight game on Thursday night, avenging an early season loss to the Curwensville Golden Tide. The Wolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead on their way to the 9-5 victory over the Tide.
The Curwensville Golden Tide avenged an earlier season loss to the Kane Lady Wolves by defeating them 11-0 on Kane’s home field on Thursday. The Lady Wolves continued to struggle at the plate, registering only two hits against the Tide’s Taylor Shope.
May 1st
The Elk County Catholic Crusaders jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings and went on to post an 11-0 win over the Kane Lady Wolves on Wednesday at Kane’s Szymanski Field.
The Kane Wolves baseball team waited more than a month to play their first game at Pat Santilli field. The Wolves gave the home fans something to smile about, winning their first game of the year, defeating the Brockway Rovers by a score of 14-13 in eight innings.
April 29th
Austin Pierson and Ben Reynolds of Kane took part in the 2013 District 4 Pepsi Finals recently and bowled well enough to qualify for the state tournament.
April 28th
Kyla Hoag and Bailey Swanson combined for a 5-inning no-hitter Saturday afternoon as the Lady Wolves toppled visiting Johnsonburg in a makeup game.
