The Kane Wolves baseball team waited more than a month to play their first game at Pat Santilli field. The Wolves gave the home fans something to smile about, winning their first game of the year, defeating the Brockway Rovers by a score of 14-13 in eight innings.
April 29th
Austin Pierson and Ben Reynolds of Kane took part in the 2013 District 4 Pepsi Finals recently and bowled well enough to qualify for the state tournament.
April 28th
Kyla Hoag and Bailey Swanson combined for a 5-inning no-hitter Saturday afternoon as the Lady Wolves toppled visiting Johnsonburg in a makeup game.
JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg baseball scored eight runs in the sixth inning to take an 11-1 win over Kane Saturday afternoon at Knothole Area Recreational Park.
April 25th
Ridgway baseball swept a doubleheader with Kane Thursday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
The Kane High School Trap team hosted St. Marys South on Wednesday at the Kane Fish and Game Club. After all 28 shooters completed, the top six scores on each team were tabulated and the two teams finished the competition tied at 125.
RIDGWAY – The Kane Lady Wolves took advantage of early errors and walks in a 5-2 win Thursday afternoon against the Ridgway Lady Elkers.
April 24th
The Kane boys’ track team finally got to run a meet in some decent weather conditions and took full advantage, defeating Johnsonburg on their home track by a score of 91-59.
April 23rd
The Kane Lady Wolves softball team had to wait nearly a month from the official start of the PIAA’s spring season to play their first game at home. Unfortunately for the home crowd, the game wasn’t worth the wait. Although the weather was beautiful, the Lady Wolves played their worst game of the season and ended up losing to Brockway 14-0.
April 21st
The Kane girls’ track and field team had a fantastic day despite the lousy conditions on Saturday to win the title of the Kane Invitational. The Lady Wolves finished the day with 114 points, outdistancing Johnsonburg, who had 77.5 points, and Brookville, who took third with 72.
