The Kane Wolves dominated Friday nightâ€™s game with Curwensville on both sides of the ball, winning the battle of 4-0 AML South teams by a score of 42-8. The Wolvesâ€™ defense, led by senior lineman Evan Delong, forced four turnovers and the Wolves offense scored early and often against the visiting Golden Tide.
The Kane Wolves survived a wild game with Brockway last Friday, rallying for a 35-31 win in a battle of 3-0 teams. Things donâ€™t get any easier this week as Kane coach Todd Silfiesâ€™ Wolves host the Curwensville Golden Tide in a clash between two 4-0 AML South heavyweights.
The Kane Lady Wolves hosted the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals on Thursday night in volleyball action. The Lady Wolves werenâ€™t very cordial hosts as they made short work of the visitors, defeating them in three sets, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-15.
The St. Marys Lady Dutch made the trip to Kane on Thursday and left town with a 4-0 win over the Lady Wolves.
On Saturday, the Kane Wolves cross country team competed at the Bradford Invitational.Â Eight teams were in attendance. The Kane Girls Varsity race started off the day with Kane finishing fifth overall led by Taylor Beimel who finished eighth with a time of 22:29.Â This was Taylorâ€™s first race of the season and she ran a strong race and has a good chance to be a four-time state qualifier.Â Kelsey Johnson 23rd and Maria Newton 29th also medaled with times of 24:50 and 25:48 respectively.Â Olivia Blackmore 26:34 and Allie Taylor 34:36 finished the scoring for Kane.
A second-half surge from Ridgway girls soccer led to a 6-0 win over the Kane Lady Wolves Tuesday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
The Kane Wolves boys soccer team is still looking for their first win of the season but they are definitely improving as the season goes on. The Wolves opened their season with a 7-0 loss to the Smethport Hubbers on the road. Kane hosted the Hubs on Tuesday afternoon and did end up on the losing end of the score, 4-0, but Kane coach Ernie Chamberlain said he can see some things going right for the Wolves.
The Kane Lady Wolves put together a solid 80 minutes of soccer on their way to posting a 3-1 victory over Smethport on Monday on the Lady Wolvesâ€™ home field. Kaneâ€™s defense held the Lady Hubs to only five shots on the day, while the offense clicked and had a number of quality scoring chances throughout the game.

The Kane Lady Wolves took part in the West Branch Tournament on Saturday and finished the day with a 4-6 record. The Lady Wolves defeated Bellefonte 25-23 and 25-11, lost to Mansfield 25-13 and 25-13, defeated Moshannon Valley 25-16 and 25-17 and lost to West Branch 25-16 and 25-17 to finish the round robin with a 4-4 record. In the quarterfinals, coach Judy Kesslerâ€™s squad lost to Central Mountain 25-11 and 25-19 to end their day.
