Kane junior varsity team beats Ridgway 28-14

September 29, 2014

The Kane junior varsity football team exacted a measure of revenge on Monday night when they defeated Ridgway 28-14 at Paul R Miller Stadium. After the varsity Elkers outlasted the Wolves on Friday night in Ridgway, the junior varsity teams strapped on the helmets and played in Kane to start the Wolves’ homecoming week.
The visitors struck first when Josh Raubenstrauch ran in for a 10-yard touchdown after an interception by James Winslow stalled Kane’s promising opening drive. The failed extra point gave Ridgway a 6-0 lead with just over five minutes left in the first quarter.

Unfortunately for the Lady Wolves, the result was pretty much the same. Ridgway defeated the Kane girls 8-1 back on Sept. 8 on the Lady Elkers' home field. On Wednesday afternoon, the Lady Wolves hosted coach Greg Maddalena’s team and jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Terika Schleicher booted a goal to prevent the shutout.
