On Monday the 13th of October I once again found myself on the road to the beautiful Benezette valley in search of elk. I can never get enough of this area, because as a nature photographer, the possibilities are endless. Iâve seen bear, fox, bobcats, deer, and very impressive scenery on almost every trip to Benezette. Oh, did I mention an occasional elk or two? This trip was to be a little bit different, as we had a rather large group of ten. My friend Tom, the deer whisperer from Olean, N.Y., and his wife had brought their family down to see the elk, and they needed a guide.

CLARION â Evan DeLong of Kane was considered one of the elite wrestlers in the state last year as he compiled an impressive 36-0 record en route to a state championship.
Now a freshman at Clarion University, DeLong is finding that college wrestling is âmuch more intenseâ and takes âa bigger commitmentâ to win.
DeLong admitted that some of his opponents last year in high school presented âeasy matchesâ for the talented matman.
Itâs a far different story as he begins his college career as the starter at 157 pounds for the Golden Eagles.
CLARION â The Kane Wolves won the District 9 Class A Championship on Friday night with a 33-14 win over the Brockway Rovers. In a game much closer than the final score indicated, the Wolves pulled away in the final two minutes to win their second district title, the first coming in 2007. The Wolves used a balanced running attack, stout defense and timely passes to earn their title.
