On a night when the Kane Wolves remembered the greatest game in Kane boysâ€™ basketball history, the 2014 Wolves came through with a hard-fought 56-50 win over the Sheffield Wolverines. The Wolves hosted their backyard rivals from Warren County after honoring the 1949 Kane Wolves that won the Pennsylvania Class B State Championship.
The Kane Wolves wrestling team will take part in the Salamanca Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The team, pictured here after placing second at last weekend's North East Tournament, is now 10-1 on the season after Tuesday's 75-0 win at Bradford.

In the history of Kane High School, there have been numerous state champions in individual sporting events. Kane High has produced a state champion wrestler and champions too numerous to count in track and field, but only once in their history has Kane High School won a state championship in a team sport.
The Kane Cheerleading Competition team attended two events this past weekend and made team history at one of them.Â
Elk County Catholic head coach Aaron Straub recorded his 700th varsity boys basketball coaching victory on Monday night as the Crusaders defeated the visiting Kane Wolves 66-26 in a contest played in the ECCHS gymnasium.
Both the Kane Lady Wolves and the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders struggled early in Monday nightâ€™s game in the Wolvesâ€™ Den. Both teamsâ€™ shooting was as cold as the weather outside to start off the game. The visitors led 13-9 at the half before pulling away for the 35-24 win.
A week after a scoring error left St. Marys Area and Keystone's competition cheerleading teams tied for the District 9 Competitive Spirit title, the two teams faced off again, this time in the Varsity Division of the 10th annual ECC Cheer Frenzy, which was held at Elk County Catholic High School on Saturday.
The Kane Area Middle School Wrestling Team took second place at the Port Allegany Junior High Five-Man Round Robin Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 11.
The Kane Wolves lost a nail-biter to Brookville on Wednesday as senior Jeff Kocjancic closed in on the 1,000 career point plateau. On Friday night, in front of a large crowd in the Wolvesâ€™ Den, the Wolves rallied to defeat the Brockway Rovers and Kocjancic scored 18 points to become only the seventh player in Kane boysâ€™ basketball history to top 1,000 points for a career.
