The Kane girlsâ€™ track and field team traveled to Altoonaâ€™s Mansion Park on Friday evening to take part in the West Central Coaches Track Championship meet. The Lady Wolves finished in sixth place out of the 30 competing AA schools with 41 points. The Johnsonburg girls finished in first place in AA.
The Kane boysâ€™ track and field team placed in 11 of 18 events at Fridayâ€™s West Central Coaches Track and Field Championship. The Wolves finished in third place out of 37 AA teams at the meet, which took place Friday evening at Altoonaâ€™s Mansion Park.
Former Kane Wolvesâ€™ head football coach Dick Smith will become the third inductee to the Kane All-Sports Booster Clubâ€™s Hall of Fame later this month, the club announced recently.
Kane High School Physical Education teacher Adam Smelko finished fifth overall in Sundayâ€™s Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon in Canton, Ohio. Smelko crossed the finish line in 2:48.46 which is more than 10 minutes better than his previous best for a marathon.
Ridgway baseball used a nine-run second inning to break Monday's game open in a 16-5 five-inning victory over Kane Monday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
The Kane boysâ€™ and girlsâ€™ track and field teams competed in the prestigious Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday. More than three dozen teams took part in the invitational, with more than 1,000 athletes from across Pennsylvania competing.
MT. JEWETT â€“ The Mt. Jewett-Hamlin Sports Boosters will hold the 1st Annual Thunder on the Mountain Hit-A-Thon on Saturday, May 3. The event will take place at the Mt. Jewett Community Parkâ€™s Little League Field, beginning at 1 p.m.

Ed Moran is the greatest male track athlete in the history of Kane Area High School. He graduated with the Kane High School Class of 1955. At the high school state championship meet, Ed placed second in the mile in 1953, placed third in the mile in 1954 and took fifth in the 880-yard run in his senior year of 1955.
The Kane baseball team finally got to play a home game on Tuesday, more than four weeks after the start of the season. The Wolves hosted the Brockway Rovers on a chilly, windy afternoon, with the Rovers coming out on top 14-5.
The Kane boysâ€™ track and field team rolled to a 115-30 win over the Johnsonburg Rams on Tuesday on a chilly, windy afternoon in Kane. The Wolves won 15 of 18 events on the afternoon, including all three relays uncontested to remain undefeated in dual meets.
