The Kane Country Club Ladies Open was held Tuesday, Aug. 13 with 68 women from 11 different clubs participating. Despite the early rain, the day ended with sunshine and a nice dinner and door prizes.
BRADFORD â€“ The high powered Pennsylvania offense rolled up more than 600 yards on offense as they rolled to an impressive 53-12 win over the New York All-Stars on Saturday night at Bradfordâ€™s Parkway field in the Don Raabe Big 30 Charity Classic.
Parents from each of the fall sports attended Tuesday nightâ€™s meeting held by Kane Area School Districtâ€™s Certified Athletic Trainer, Krystal Nuhfer. Nuhfer briefly went over required paperwork with the parents and guardians in attendance before moving on to discuss a few medical issues.

Girls hoping to play volleyball for the Kane Lady Wolves take part in an open gym on Thursday morning. Official practice for fall sports, including volleyball, begins on Monday, Aug. 12.
BERWICK â€“Â With two outs in the top of the seventh inning it looked like Plains had the 2013 Senior Division Softball State Championship wrapped up and was going to edge St. Marys 3-2.

Members of the Kane Tornado football team gather around Kane Wolves Head Football Coach Todd Silfies and some of the Wolves' players and coaches on Wednesday night. The two teams have been working together on a football camp in preparation for their seasons. The Wolves and Tornadoes will begin official practices in August.
Even though there are no games scheduled for more than a month and official practices donâ€™t begin until Aug. 12, a number of Kane High School athletes have been working out this summer to get a jump start on the season.
