The Kane High School Trap team hosted St. Marys South on Wednesday at the Kane Fish and Game Club. After all 28 shooters completed, the top six scores on each team were tabulated and the two teams finished the competition tied at 125.
RIDGWAY â€“ The Kane Lady Wolves took advantage of early errors and walks in a 5-2 win Thursday afternoon against the Ridgway Lady Elkers.
The Kane boysâ€™ track team finally got to run a meet in some decent weather conditions and took full advantage, defeating Johnsonburg on their home track by a score of 91-59.
The Kane Lady Wolves softball team had to wait nearly a month from the official start of the PIAAâ€™s spring season to play their first game at home. Unfortunately for the home crowd, the game wasnâ€™t worth the wait. Although the weather was beautiful, the Lady Wolves played their worst game of the season and ended up losing to Brockway 14-0.
The Kane girlsâ€™ track and field team had a fantastic day despite the lousy conditions on Saturday to win the title of the Kane Invitational. The Lady Wolves finished the day with 114 points, outdistancing Johnsonburg, who had 77.5 points, and Brookville, who took third with 72.
The Kane boysâ€™ track and field team put together a great team effort to win Saturdayâ€™s Kane Invitational team title with 81 points. Iroquois came in second with 67, followed by Port Allegany with 64.
Anyone out there who follows my columns might think that Iâ€™m a retired guy with not a care in the world; Â traveling to exotic locations, spending countless hours in the forests, tracking down wildlife and birdlife in the pursuit of that perfect photograph. It does sound like that even to me, but the truth is I still work, and my photography is just a very enjoyable hobby. My travels are usually small vacations where I always carry a camera, collecting memories for future sharing with anyone who will listen.
Kane girlsâ€™ track and field coach Jim Sirianni left five of his key athletes behind in Kane while the rest of the team traveled to the county seat to take on the Hubbers on Tuesday. The Lady Wolves came up on the short end of the team score but a number of Kane track ladies came through with stellar performances.
A good team effort led the Kane boysâ€™ track and field team to a win over the Hubbers in Smethport on Tuesday. Chris Udovich and Bailey Colson were quadruple winners for the Wolves, while Jonah Smith tripled. Nate Moore, Jon Gelsick and Chris Cummings were each double winners for Kane and came through with some solid performances.
PORT ALLEGANY â€“ The Kane Lady Wolves upped their record to 3-0 as they traveled to Port Allegany and defeated the Gators 7-5. Kyla Hoag got her third win, giving up nine hits, striking out four, and walking one. The Wolves scored their runs on five hits and nine walks.
