This is the 15th and last installment of my photographic trip to the wilds of Alaska. Iâ€™m now in my final day in Katmai National Park, home for over 2,000 brown bears. I have made this trip to finally see and photograph the brown bears, and along the way got to see an amazing assortment of wildlife and scenic beauty. This was indeed, the trip of a lifetime.
The Kane Lady Wolves lost a hard-fought game to Warren on Thursday night in the Wolvesâ€™ Den, 42-31.
Seven Lady Wolves played their final regular season game on the court but the Lady Dragons pulled away in the final four minutes to hand Kane its fourth loss on the season.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ Kane wrestling won 45-21 in a dual meet at Johnsonburg Area High School Thursday night.
Seth Woolcock won the opening bout by forfeit at 113 pounds for the Wolves for a 6-0 lead. Cody Blankenship then had little trouble in the 120-pound match as he pinned Devin Mann of Johnsonburg in a time of 1:45 which upped the Kane lead to 12-0.
Jon Gelsick scored Kane's third bout in a row as he pinned Johnny Ferragine in a time of 1:05 in the 126-pound weight class.
The Kane Wolves boysâ€™ varsity basketball team started out hot in Wednesday nightâ€™s game against the Brockway Rovers. The Wolves led by as many as eight in the first quarter and 12 in the second before a big third quarter by the Rovers gave the visitors a slim lead going into the fourth quarter in the Wolvesâ€™ Den.
Brockway took advantage of a few late Kane turnovers and hit their free throws down the stretch to leave with the hard-fought 72-64 victory.
BROCKWAY â€“ The Kane Lady Wolves basketball team used some suffocating defense to propel themselves to a big 54-17 win over the Brockway Lady Rovers on Tuesday night on the road.
Kane eighth grader Frank Truden (22) lets a 3-pointer fly during Monday's game with Brookville. Despite Truden's efforts, the young Wolves came up a little short against the Raiders. The season is winding down for the Wolves, with only two weeks remaining in their season.
DuBOIS â€“ The 2012-2013 Lady Wolves are making their mark on the all-time Kane girlsâ€™ basketball record book.
Two days after fellow senior Kaila Jamerson became the Lady Wolves all-time leading scorer, point guard Dawn Saquin replaced her sister Andrea at the top of the all-time assist list. Dawn finished the night with seven assists to make her career total 241, one better than Andrea.
The Kane boysâ€™ basketball team dug themselves a deep hole at the beginning of Friday nightâ€™s game with DuBois Central Catholic and never recovered, losing a key game in their hopes of securing a playoff berth.
Kaneâ€™s Kaila Jamerson needed two points entering Wednesday nightâ€™s game with the Ridgway Lady Elkers to climb atop the Lady Wolvesâ€™ all-time scoring list.
Ridgway boys basketball used a 17-0 second half run to pull away from the Kane Wolves en route to a 63-43 victory Wednesday night as part of Senior Night.
Kane had kept with the Elkers in the first half and trailed 34-30 entering the third quarter. The Elkers then scored 17 straight points to bulge the lead to 21 past the midpoint of the third quarter.
