Kane boysâ€™ track coach Tom Cecchetti welcomes back 17 letter-winners from last yearâ€™s District 9 AA Championship squad. In addition to the letter-winners, the Wolvesâ€™ veteran coach has 30 more boys that reported for the first practice of the season.
Bruce Kumher will be wearing a new hat several days a week for the next couple months. Kumher, who is a minister from Mt. Jewett, will be taking over the reins of the Kane Wolvesâ€™ baseball team this season. Joining him in the dugout is Steve Peterson, who was on the coaching staff last season when Josh Lindemuth was in charge. When Lindemuth elected not to return to the post this season, Kumher stepped in to fill the void.
Kane's Nick Anderson has been named to the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches' Association's All-State team for his performance during the indoor track season.
The Kane Area High School Cheerleading team traveled to Cheer LTD Nationals in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past weekend and came home exceeding their goals they set out at the beginning of the season.Â
Kane senior Morgan Nicholson competed in the New Balance Indoor Nationals at the Armory in New York City last weekend. Nicholson was one of 41 girls from across the U.S. and Canada that qualified for the event.
The Kane Cheerleading Competition Cheerleaders attended the Champion Cheer Central Hard Rockinâ€™ Nationals in Cleveland this past weekend and came home with two championships by placing first in the Varsity Non-Tumble Division and first in the Small Varsity Mount Division.

Aiden Hulings of Kane, representing the Kane Wrestling Club, was handpicked to wrestle for Team Pennsylvania 12-and-under division at the 127-pound weight class in the NUWAY National Duals Tournament heldÂ for two days in Columbus, Ohio.
HERSHEY â€“ The Kane Wolves wrestling team only sent two wrestlers to the PIAA Class AA Championship Tournament last week, but those two wrestlers put on a clinic on how to perform under pressure by going 9-1 at the Giant Center in Hershey.
HERSEY â€“ Evan DeLong will be looking to improve on last year's runner-up finish as he takes on Richland's Nico Pecora in this afternoon's PIAA AA 170-pound final. DeLong defeated Bishop McDevitt's Zane Black 13-6 in the quarterfinals on Friday morning at Hershey's Giant Center. The Wolves' senior then earned a return trip to the state finals with a 9-3 win over Penns Valley's Corey Hazel in Friday night's semifinal.
