Edward Joseph Kisko, 83, of 15 Beech St., died Friday evening, June 3, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Ludlow on Jan. 31, 1928, the son of Anna Baronak Kisko and George Kisko. On June 14, 1969, at St. Callistus Church, he married Laurea Holt, who survives.

Elaine Beckwith Ryan, 65, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Kane and New York City, died Dec. 5, 2010. Survivors include sons John and Thomas, both of Huntington, N.Y; a brother, Earl of Osprey, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Jake and Kayla Ryan. A memorial service will be held at St. Callistus Church, in Kane on Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m.
Roger L. Ewing, 55, of 21-41 Main St., Mt. Jewett, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Kane Community Hospital of injuries sustained in a fall.
Born Nov. 19, 1955, in Kane, he was a son of the late Ronald and Jean Magnuson Ewing.
Mr. Ewing was a self-employed carpenter.
Margaret Joan Johnson, 83, formerly of Lincoln Avenue in Ludlow, died early Tuesday morning, May 31, 2011, at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born June 8, 1927 in Frewsburg, N.Y., she was the daughter of Bertil L. and Gladys A. Davidson Carlson. On April 29, 1948 in Maryland, she married Clarence S. "Bud" Johnson, who died in 2000.
She was a member of Moriah Lutheran Church in Ludlow. She was a homemaker and later a personal caregiver.
May 30th
Margarite A. "Peg" Phillips, 90, formerly of Erie and Kane, went to be with her Jesus on Monday, May 30, 2011, having died at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born June 15, 1920 in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of Laurence W. and Rose M. Von Zagorski Bushley. On Sept. 20, 1940 in Sackett, she married the love of her life, Merle L. Phillips, who died April 2, 2008.
Margaret E. Davis, 98, formerly of West Wind Road, Kane, died Monday afternoon, May 30, 2011 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where she resided.
She was born Oct. 10, 1912 in Kane, a daughter of Charles A. and Anna D. Lynn Colson. On Aug. 9, 1935 in Buffalo, she married Harold F. Davis, who died in 1990. A former resident of Lancaster, N.Y., she was a resident of Kane since 1974.

Ruth M. Larson, 76, of Indiana, formerly of Kane, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Center in Indiana.
Born Dec. 5, 1934 in Elmira, N.Y., she was the daughter of William T. and Ethel C. Wilcox Smith. On Oct. 22, 1955 in Syracuse, N.Y., she married Leonard L. Larson, who died in 2003.
Mrs. Larson was a graduate of Fulton High School in Elmira, N.Y. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Indiana and during her life had traveled as a missionary in the Philippines and in Indonesia.Â

John J. Yasurek, 94, of 5573 Highland Rd., died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Nov. 8, 1916, in Sheffield, he was a son of the late Andrew and Katherine Yasurek. On Nov. 24, 1945, he married Emma Knapp who survives.
Mr. Yasurek served with the Navy during WW II.Â
Before his retirement, he was employed by Motion Control in Ridgway. He was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church.
May 22nd
Margaret A. "Peggy" Beavers, 61, of 337 Pine St., Kane, died Friday afternoon, May 20, 2011 at Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center in Smethport.
Born Jan. 7, 1950 in Kane, she was the daughter of Virgil L. and Marjorie A. Golden Buhl. On Oct. 19, 1968 in Kane, she married Harvie D. Beavers, who survives.
Mrs. Beavers was a registered nurse at the Kane Community Hospital and the Ridgway Community Nurse Service & Hospice. Earlier she was a cook for the Colonial Inn near Kane and a bookkeeper for Shaeffer's Disposal.
