Ellie Tunall was crowned Kane's 2013 Homecoming Queen during halftime of the Wolves' 42-8 win over Curwensville. Tunall, the daughter of Steve and Mary Tunall, is pictured with her escort, Austin Woolcock.

'College and Career Fair' set at high school

For the second year, the "open house" program at Kane High School will feature a "College and Career Fair."
About 35 colleges, businesses, military services and other organizations will have designated booths in the school gymnasium.

Jamie Nowalk receives ‘Rising Senior’ award

Jamie Nowalk has received the "Rising Senior" award from the Kane High School Alumni Memorial Fund.
The $1,000 award is given annually to a college senior who previously received an Alumni Memorial Fund Scholarship at high school commencement.

Robert L. Fiscus

Robert L. Fiscus, 68, of 415 Haines St., Kane, died Thursday evening, Sept. 26, 2013 in the Kane Community Hospital Emergency Room.
Born Oct. 25, 1944 in Kane, he was the son of Braden E. and Martha E. Marshall Fiscus Sr. On Nov. 9, 1974 in Kane, he married Donna L. Bizzak, who survives.
Mr. Fiscus worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Sheffield for many years, then for Kane Manufacturing for 27 years.
He was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Wolves ready to take on Golden Tide in Homecoming tilt

The Kane Wolves survived a wild game with Brockway last Friday, rallying for a 35-31 win in a battle of 3-0 teams. Things don’t get any easier this week as Kane coach Todd Silfies’ Wolves host the Curwensville Golden Tide in a clash between two 4-0 AML South heavyweights.

Lady Wolves defeat Lady Cardinals in three sets By Amy Geer

The Kane Lady Wolves hosted the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals on Thursday night in volleyball action. The Lady Wolves weren’t very cordial hosts as they made short work of the visitors, defeating them in three sets, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-15.

St. Marys girls defeat Lady Wolves in Kane

The St. Marys Lady Dutch made the trip to Kane on Thursday and left town with a 4-0 win over the Lady Wolves.

Shots fired in Brockway

September 26, 2013

According to scanner reports from Thursday afternoon, local authorities have responded to an area referred to as Cemetery Hill in Brockway in response to multiple shots being fired.

According to WJAC-TV, "a state police spokesperson in Harrisburg confirmed one state trooper was injured in what was described as an 'ongoing situation' on Cemetery Hill Road."

Scanner reports also stated that area schools were on lockdown.

Please exercise caution in this area.
