The Kane boysâ€™ soccer team lost to the Curwensville Golden Tide by a 5-1 score on Tuesday in Kane. The Wolves honored four seniors, Riley Austin, Kaleb Pierotti, Tyler West and Yerken Kashkov at halftime.
An affidavit of probable cause filed in Magisterial District Court 48-3-04 shows Kathleen S. Douglas, age 37, of North Tionesta Avenue, Kane, had "levels of the Schedule IV controlled substance Clonazepam (that) were several times greater than they should have been given the dosage prescribed" when she was involved in a fatal crash that killed six people.
Due to the recent injuries to employees of the Kane Borough Streets Department, members of the Kane Borough Council made it easier for the department chairs to hire temporary or part-time employees in the event of an emergency. With the leaf pick-up season upon us, the chairman of the boroughâ€™s public works committee may hire part-time employees in conjunction with the borough office manager, Lori Feldbauer. Full-time employees would still have to be hired by the borough council.

Kenneth A. "Wally" McCauley, 64, of 130 Greeves St., diedFriday, Oct. 11, 2013 at his residence.
Born April 12, 1949, in Kane, he was a son of Kenneth A. and Joy L. Haese McCauley Sr.
Mr. McCauley was self-employed as an insurance underwriter.
He was a member of Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church andÂ had served on the executive board at the Lutheran Home at Kane for many years and was very involved in fundraising for the Home.Â
He enjoyed watching sports, talking politics and spending time with his granddaughter.
The First Baptist Church of Kane held their 32nd Annual Fall Bazaar on Saturday.
The Kane Volleyball team finished at the top of their bracket in Saturdayâ€™s Kane Varsity Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Wolves came up short in the semifinals, however, losing 25-16 to Union.
Victoria "Vicki" Barnes Parrish, 57, of 11 Maple Ln., Mt. Jewett, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at her residence.
Born Dec. 9, 1955, in Kane, she was a daughter of Leo Barnes and Shirley Swanson.Â Â
Prior to her disability, Vicki had worked at Corning Glass in Bradford and atÂ the Vlassic Pickle Factory and Ford, both in Michigan.
Her family affectionately referredÂ to her as "Grandma grrrr".
Kenneth A. McCauley Jr., 65, of 130 Greeves St., died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at his residence.
Friends and family may attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane.

The Kane Wolves welcomed a new opponent to Paul R Miller Stadium on Friday night when they took on St. Josephâ€™s Catholic Academy from Boalsburg, just outside of State College. St. Joeâ€™s is also nicknamed the Wolves, but the Wolves from McKean County showed their counterparts from central Pennsylvania who was top dog during Kaneâ€™s 50-14 win.
