Linda A. Anderson of 401 Ash St., Kane has announced her intention to seek election to the Kane School Board as a write-in candidate..
Anderson is a retired teacher who was employed for over 30 years by Seneca Highlands Intermediate Unit 9 (IU-9).

The Kane boysâ€™ soccer team hosted the West Forest Fire on Monday and came away with a 5-1 loss.
Neither team was able to score for the first 20 minutes as both teams missed chances at the net. The visitors got onto the scoreboard first with 20:41 left in the half when a Fire player scored among a crowd in front of Kane goalie Tyler Schleicher. The team from Tionesta tacked on two more goals before the break.

Ronald J. Francis, 75, of 81 East Main St., Mt. Jewett, and also 985 Valencia Estates, Lakeland, Fla, died Saturday evening, Sept. 28, 2013 at the Kane Community Hospital.
He was born in Erie on Jan. 18, 1938, the son of the late Clarence and Ann (Zelinski) Francis. He graduated from Academy High School in Erie in 1956 and was employed at Hammermill International Paper for 42 1/2 years.Â He also had owned and operated the Instant Heartburn Sausage Trailer for many years.
Riley Austin (left), son of Bev and Scott Austin of Kane, is the Homecoming King at Kane High School. The king was announced Saturday at the Homecoming Dance at the high school. Ellie Tunall (right), daughter of Mary and Steve Tunall of Kane, is the Homecoming Queen. The queen was announced Friday at halftime of the Homecoming football game. Both king and queen are seniors at Kane High School.
Dr. Maryann Anderson, superintendent of the Kane School District, has lost yet another battle in her lengthy federal case in U.S. District Court in Erie.
