A rare blue moon will appearÂ tonight althoughÂ it is unlikely that it willÂ actually appear blue. The name applies to a second full moon inside a single calendar month. The last one was in August 2012 and the next will not occur until 2018. If it does appear blue, it is possible and has happened, it will be becauseÂ the light is being filtered through air borne particles.
Stackpole Starts Moving Out â€śNew Productionâ€ť Equipment from Plant 2
A strike at Stackpole passed the five month mark in mid-July. With talks between management and labor continuing, never-used equipment is â€śbeing moved out, piece-by-piece, still in the crates in which it was shipped.â€ť A picture of a tractor trailer backed up to the Poplar Street plantâ€™s loading doors accompanied the article.
Increase Tuition at 14 State Schools
Tuition will be increased this September from $750 to $800 per semester at 13 of the Pennsylvania state colleges and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Dillon Mattis, a 2015 Kane High graduate and Wolves' football standout, kicks off during Big 30 practice last week in Kane. Mattis and four of his Wolves' teammates will be playing in the 42nd Annual all-star game this Saturday in Bradford. Pre-game festivities begin at 6 p.m. with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. Mattis and the rest of the Pennsylvania all-stars will have another practice in Kane on Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m.

VIDEO: At least three dead in Louisiana movie theatre shooting
Three people are dead and several others injured after a gunman began shooting
inside a movie theatre in Lafayette, Louisiana.
This is the cleared Kane borough-owned lot at 12 Chestnut St. A dilapidated building at the site has been demolished and the debris has been taken to the Casella landfill near Hutchins.

ANF Timber Havesting in Fiscal Year Amounts to $1.4 Million
â€śTimber Farmingâ€ť on the near half-million acre Allegheny National Forest continued as a million dollar business in the past year and looms to pass that figure in the next year. The money returned to the counties is pro-rated on forest acreage within the counties in which the ANF is located. One-fourth of the total receipts goes back to the counties.
