Friends and family of John H. McNeil are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kane Revival Center, 401 Greeves St., with the Rev. Leonard Eastman, pastor, officiating. Refreshments will be served at the Kane Senior Center following the service. Mr. McNeil passed away July 21, 2013. The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
Carl W. Cook, 80, of 1102 Horner Rd., Wilcox, died Friday morning, Aug. 9, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born July 7, 1933 in Hazel Hurst, son of the late Carl R. and Lillian Dippo Cook.
He married Beverly Marlene Johnson on Nov. 20, 1954 in the Wilcox Presbyterian Church, and she survives.
Formerly of James City, he resided in Wilcox since 1958. He graduated from Kane High School and was a member of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church and Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
HAZEL HURST â€“ The long-awaited construction of a sewage collection system for Lantz Corners is expected to begin this month.
Dan Slagle, a Pittsburgh-based engineer who designed the system, said financing is in place to begin construction of the $2.7-million project.
