Johanna Good

Johanna Good, daughter of Kyle and Lorene Bowman Good of 498 Campbelltown Rd., died at birth at Warren General Hospital.
Johanna is survived, in addition to her parents, by two sisters, Taylor Good and Kristen Good at home; her maternal grandparents, James and Lois Bowman; and her paternal grandparents, Clair and Geraldine Good.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family  with Pastor Glen Newswanger of the Bradford Mennonite Church, officiating.  Burial will be at Bridgeview Cemetery.
The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Jersey weekend leaves Kane boys fourth

JACKSON, N.J. – Over the weekend the Kane Wolves traveled to Jackson, N.J. to compete in the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational on Saturday.
The course wound around the safari park located outside Six Flags Wild Adventure Park. The flat terrain made for fast times as six boys competitors broke the previous course record, while the girls’ course record also fell.

Hearing continued for Highland Twp. supervisor

JOHNSONBURG - A Highland Township supervisor charged with environmental violations had his preliminary hearing in District Court 59-3-02 continued Wednesday as he has yet to obtain legal representation.
Charges were filed by the Attorney General's Office last week with District Judge George A. "Tony" King against Charles M. Vaughn Jr., 75, who currently serves as chairman of the Highland Township Board of Supervisors and who up until recently served as the state-certified operator of the township's sewage plant in James City.

Kane hospital is well prepared to handle local disasters

“Be Prepared” is the motto of the Boys Scouts.
This phrase also aptly applies to Kane Community Hospital.
When Kane was faced with the largest evacuation in McKean County history five weeks ago, the local hospital ramped up its disaster plan.
“We have a process to follow for disasters,” Gary Rhodes, the chief executive officer (CEO) at the hospital, said Wednesday. “We’re always prepared.”

Lady Wolves sweep Raiders in three sets

The Kane Lady Wolves’ volleyball team made short work of the visiting Brookville Raiders on Tuesday night in the Wolves’ Den. Kane head coach Judy Kessler’s team won in straight sets, 25-10, 25-18 and 25-9 to make an early night of it.
The Lady Wolves jumped out to a 9-3 lead behind kills from seniors Kaila Jamerson and Audrey Perry and aces from Nikki Sicher and Shannon Kocjancic. The home team’s hitters began to turn it up a notch with kills by Morgan Nicholson and Sicher, along with two back row kills from Perry to close out the game.

Basketball teams defeat Sheffield in hoops action

The Kane Middle School girls’ seventh- and eighth-grade basketball teams both won their games Monday afternoon in Sheffield. The seventh-grade team held on for a big win against the Wolverines, 27-22.
