The Kane girlsâ€™ track and field team gave the Bradford Lady Owls a run for their money on Tuesday afternoon, but with a couple of key runners out of action, the Lady Wolves came up on the short end of a 96-53 score on a sunny but cool afternoon in Kane.
The Kane boysâ€™ track and field team did something on Tuesday that few teams over the past decade have done â€“ defeat the Bradford Owls. The Wolves defeated Bradford, who had a 90-plus dual meet win streak snapped in 2012, 91-58 behind some clutch performances on a cool but sunny afternoon in Kane.

Iâ€™ve photographed many birds in my life, including songbirds and birds of prey, but when asked where the ducks are, I just get a blank look on my face. BYRNEDALE â€“ Emergency responders battled a house fire late Friday night and into the early morning hours of Saturday at a house just off Log Cabin Lane in the area of 19850 Bennetts Valley Highway in Byrnedale.
William Eugene Gillotti, 92, of Mobile, Ala., died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.
He was born April 4, 1921 in Kane, son of the late William and Zella Knapp Gillotti.
He was a 1939 graduate of Kane High School. He served in the Air Force in WW II and was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters Lenore Arena and Gail (Bob) Breidenbach; a son, Eric Gillotti; and brothers Donald, Virgil and Wilbur Gillotti.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Santilli.
Services were held in Mobile, Ala.
BRADFORD â€“ Charges against a Bradford doctor for the alleged inappropriate touching of two young married women in his medical office have been "bound over" to McKean County Court.
The St. Marys North squad defeated the Kane squad in trap action on Thursday at the Kane Fish and Game Club. Eric Uhl shot a perfect round of 25 for the visitors, leading them to a 139-137 win over Kane.
B. Pauline McMillen, 87, of 764 JoJo Rd., Kane, died Friday afternoon, April 4, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Nov. 30, 1926 in Brookville, she was the daughter of Russell C. and Gladys G. Weirich Gilmore.Â On May 4, 1946 in Johnsonburg, she married Donald E. McMillen, who died in 1998.
Pauline worked at Stackpole in Kane for many years until it closed.Â She then worked in the deli at Quality Markets in Kane for several years.
Why hasn't the state reimbursed the Kane Area School District for a about a third of the cash it allocated for a 2008 school construction project?
