Book Fair begins at Kane Elementary School, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., school library. Book Fair runs all week.

Due to mechanical problems with the vacuum, the collection of leaves in Kane is temporarily suspended.
Joe Couch, supervisor of the Kane Streets Department, said leaf pickups would resume once repairs are completed.
The Kane borough Streets Department is using its huge vacuum and truck to pick up leaves piled along streets. Joe Couch, Streets Department supervisor, is asking residents to rake their leaves to the grassy area between the sidewalk and the curb. Do not pile up leaves in the street, he said.
Workers from Helping Hands of Mt. Jewett demolish the former Allegheny Crossroads store at Lantz Corners. Mt. Jewett businessman Jim Myers, who owns the property, has not announced future plans for the site.
