Professionals Day luncheon

The Kane Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon Wednesday in observance of Administrative Professionals Day. More than 40 attended the luncheon at the Kane Manor on Clay Street. New main gas line in Kane

Utility Pipeline is replacing a 4-inch main gas line at Haines and Yarnell streets in Kane. The work for Knox Energy, the local gas company, includes a new line along the south side of Haines Street for much of the block between Hacker and Yarnell streets. The work also includes this section on Yarnell Street near Haines Street.

Mt. Jewett firefighters banquet

The Mt. Jewett Volunteer Fire Department held their annual banquet Saturday evening at the firehall. Those seated at the head table for the event were, from left to right, Chief Dan Gustafson, Megan Forquer, Steve Hale, Marilyn Compton, Will Antrim, Becky Barnhart, Toni Pearson and Ed Fisher, Second Assistant Fire Chief. Hale, the Mt. Jewett Police Chief, was the speaker for the night and Compton was the coordinator of the event.

The Kane Community Hospital hosted its monthly Diabetic Support Group meeting on Wednesday evening. Libby Herbstritt, left, manager of KCH's Dietary Department, is pictured going over some data with one of the participants, Martha Duran.
