The Lutheran Home at Kane Nurses Scholarship was presented last month at the Kane High School commencement. Two of the three recipients are Christine Mosier (left) and Kathryn Bizzak (right). Jennifer Compton, who also received a Lutheran Home scholarship, was not present when the photo was taken.

Joe Stanko Memorial Scholarship

The $2,000 Joe Stanko Memorial Scholarship was presented earlier this month at the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2011 at Kane Area High School. Taking part in the presentation are, left to right: Kara and Krysta Stanko, daughters of Joe Stanko; Evan Depto, the recipient of the memorial scholarship; and Diane Stanko, sister of Joe Stanko.

Craig Perry (center), a 2011 graduate of Kane Area High School, is the recipient of the Ian "Skip" McCloskey Memorial Scholarship Award. Presenting the award at commencement earlier this month are Gene Staiger (left), who is McCloskey's stepfather, and Nadine Staiger (right), mother of McCloskey-- a 2000 Kane High graduate who was killed in a DUI-related accident.

New King Lion Steve Timpano recieved the President's gavel from Chuck Dangelo, installing Lion. Trisha Swanson of Kane displays a special Alumni Weekend shirt available at It's Judi's Place at 106 Fraley St. in Kane. Swanson is a 1996 graduate of Kane Area High School. Her class is one of 14 planning activities in Kane for Alumni Weekend, which begins Friday. Kane High alumni from throughout the country will be returning to Kane for the traditional Alumni Weekend activities.
